I used to describe mugens as the 'Louis Vuitton/Hermes/Gucci' or what ever high stake fashion equivalent for kendamas.. imagine my surprise when I found this on rakuten global..listed for 1 million yen.. http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/warashibe/item/c1612-016-013-140/ on another note, I wonder what is the most 'expensive' or high valued(sentimental) kendama in your collection? The most expensive one we ever had was this red OG mugen with 24k gold flakes. Regrettably Colin had to sell it about 3 years ago. but it went for $1,000.00 USD
Hmm I have some that are kinda 'priceless', they're rare enough that I don't think they have any sort of established price tag. It would take a LOT of cash to get them away from me haha. One such dama is my solid mahogany boss-sized prototype. It's a 1 of 2, and it has dutchkendama's face on the seal! So rad! Another is, as far as I understand it, the very first prototype for the 'new toy in town', a brand that Oase started many many years ago, but was only available for purchase in Romania. I'm pretty sure Oase hand turned it himself, and the tama is a custom paint job that is super cool! I tried to get a new toy for a LONG time, but as I said they didn't export at all, so it's an it of a grail to me now! (Recently new toy has restarted though I've seen, I guess thanks to the explosion of dama in Romania. The original series was all made in Romania afaik though, looks like new series is china?) I have some other stuff that would probably pull in good pricetags, like an in-package OG gold Magen, wth kazuma's sig and 'mugen' calligraphy in the big cup. Some Terra damas have sold for some pretty high prices as well, though that's a little different.
My most prized damas have got to be the -Earth Blue musou only 93 out there I think -Hand turned Terra Beta Purple Heart
I have a shin sakura thats almost unplayed, which although cost me less than £2 on ebay may be worth a little more than that. Also an ocean blue musou and the JAC subcrew collab from a couple of years ago that I've kept fresh.
Who's got one of those ebony Mugens? Always thought that was the most beautiful dama. Wonder what one would go for.
