Well, in modern archery the arrow shafts are hollow, instead of solid, and made of carbon or aluminium, or a hybrid to increase torsional stability, decrease weight and increase speed. Therefore, it's basically impossible for us to split an arrow in half. However, you can do this (skip to 2:36 for the best bit): (The dude basically shot an arrow into a slightly larger arrow.) -------------------- In competition, there's this little piece of ABS plastic at the back end of the arrow (near the "feathers") which aids the arrow to latch on to the bowstring, called the nock (read here for more info). Sometimes, at close distances an arrow we shoot will hit the nock of an arrow already at the target, and nock is driven into the arrow, causing it to break or shatter on impact. (major apologies for the accidental thread hijack, haha!)
Wow I feel so uncomfortable with left foot forward (I'm a righty). Interesting that everyone is so different! I thought everyone did right and right or left and left.
I like the snow/skateboard analogy, although I'm not sure if it can be applied here. I'm a goofy footer, but put my left foot forward while playing dama. Another thing I noticed is that if I were in a boxing match I'd keep my left foot forward, but while grappling, especially without the gi, I keep my right foot forward (ex bjj nerd here). And of course, there are people like @Vlats . Dude has no respect for his dominant hand whatsoever. Writes as a lefty, hits the ball with his right foot, plays the dama with his right hand, rides goofy and if you're lucky enough to end up in his dental office don't be surprised once he starts switching hands while working on your teeth I guess it's just how your brain is wired.
YO i just realized i had a dream that i suddenly became more comfortable putting my left foot forward.. Definitely a dream hahahah
I'm tending a shattered right ankle into rehabilitation. So to help take some weight off, I put the right one up front. I'm learning kendama real slow because my ankle is my obvious priority. I think I'll start playing left-handed, since my bag of tricks is so elementary.
Just went through some of my older and newer clips. Turns out I was lying. I change stances depending on the trick
