I like to have a slightly heavier tama. Im not sure why exactly, but i just like it. I also have a keyaki ozora mpls painted that is 55g ken and 69g tama and it shreds.
Not too picky on the weight on the whole Kendama but I like my tama to be 8-12 grams heavier believe it or not
Wow that's some serious weight difference there! I bet spacewalks and hand rolls get a bit funky!? I had a 68g ken and 86g tama and it just played on my mind too much. The tama is now in hibernation and I bought a 68g one to put on the ken. OCD?
Yea, spacewalky tricks are weird with it, doable but not ideal. Otherwise it plays okay, but I do prefer them to be within ~8-10 % weight of eachother
Definitely 70-80 for me, those are my sweet spot weights. But the tama and ken gotta atleast be somewhat close in weight, 10 grams difference is when I start really telling a difference.
I received a Mugen sometime back, 72.40 ken, 90.58 tama. Took me some time to get to terms with it, but it does work!
Honestly don't care. Heavy and light are both so fun in their own way. I can honestly go from jamming my bonsai keyaki to my KUSA ghost silk cherry and they both are super fun. However dead-on is just truly the best. No contest. Lunars just slap at that point.
130-145g setups I can play all day and I travel well as a light setup. My heavyweights150+g are the ones I leave behind when I'll be walking all day.
Yust wondering. Did you make a company for money? Or to spread kendama? Or because it was trending? Usually non-dama playing sellers aren't as well regarded.
I have an additional question on weight, between the cups and the spike, how much of a weight difference do you prefer when going for balance tricks ie:lunar/ luanr flip.
I went crazy weighing all my damas and trying to match them all. I still swap them from time to time it’s fun. BUT I was just jamming a 3D Don Maple Slaydawg and it felt great! Then I weighed it and the ken was 85.3 and the tama was 68.4!!! 16.9 grams off!! I didn’t do any space walks but LH and Lunar and cup n spike stuff was great. Might just be in our heads My C Fraser came perfectly balanced at 72.4. It might be my fav
