When shooting Kendama for videos on Instagram, YouTube and Vimeo Edits, GoPro POV clips and more, what's everyone shooting with? This thread is for all Camera Setups, FAQ's and helpful hint to push our media game to the next level. What's in your current camera bag? Current Set Up: Body: Canon EOS Rebel T3i Lens(es): Canon 50mm 1.4, 55-250mm 4-5.6, and 35mm Other: GoPro Hero 4 Silver Edition, iPhone 6 Accessories: Vanguard Tripod Post your set ups! Let's chat camera gear.
That's where we all started. Up until last year ya boi was on that GoPro Hero V1. You'll upgrade with time
Here's the equipment we're currently rocking at Sweets Kendamas. Cameras: Canon Rebel T6i (sometimes T3i) & GoPro Hero 4 Lenses (in order of use): Canon EF 35mm 1.4, Sigma 10-20 mm, 50 mm 1.8, & the 55-250mm 4-5.6 Accessories: Rode video mic, Glidecam HD4000, Monfrotto tripod, LED light for night shots. Programs: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, and After Effects It doesnt really matter what gear you have it just depends on how you use it! Along with most people, I started making videos and all I had was a crappy digital camera and Windows Movie Maker. You best believe I got suuuper savy with movie maker and pushed that camera to its limits tho! Like TJ said, you'll upgrade with time and learn to use your tools in a creative way! -coop
Body: Sony A6000 Lenses: 16-55mm, 50mm f1.8 Other: GoPro Hero 3+, Slik tripod Program: Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 I chose this camera because of its compact size and performance in low light. This one supports up to 1080p 60fps. This camera has excellent image and video quality. However, a common problem the Sonys have is they tend to overheat while shooting video, which is not def not good if it takes you a while to lace while recording. So my solution to that is lace first t or quick haha.
That's all you need! I agree. I didn't upgrade Camera or GoPro until last year. You don't need much to capture tricks but dang shooting video and finding new ways to shoot is too much fun. Especially with a dSLR
Body: Canon 60D Lens: 50mm 1.4 and Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 Other: Gopro Hero 3 Silver ( Used this thing for every edit until a year ago) Mic: Rode Video mic go Tripod: Some random one i bought at goodwill for like 7 dollars.
Sorry if you don't mind asking but how is the 50mm f1.8 working for you? I also have the a6000 and was looking into getting a prime lens. I've been stuck between the 35mm and 50mm and need some opinion before i make the purchase. Thanks in advance!
Cameras: Canon 5D Mark 3, but I film alone on my iPhone a lot when I don't have it with me Lenses: Canon 24-105mm F4, Canon 40mm f2 pancake. I left the rest of my lenses back home, will fetch them soon. Accessories: Freehand, for now. Programs: Final Cut Pro X and After Effects
I like it a lot. Great portrait lens, bokeh and subject isolation. However, as an everday walk-around lens, the FL isn't working well for me. At 75mm, Its too narrow for some situations. One thing I def. do not like is the manual focus on it, you have to turn the ring quite a bit. So people recommend using DMF instead MF, and its a lot better that way. As for video, I prefer to use the kit lens and shoot with wider angles. What is your shooting style? On the kit, what focal length do you use more?
I'm typically trying to find more ways of incorporating my camera into my life but as of now I use it a lot for street photography, landscape, and for indoor use (college club events and whatnot) and always on the 16-55mm kit lens. I tried filming with the a6000 but I feel like it's very hard to set up compared to a smartphone. I changed my mind on a fixed lens (for now) and I might go with the Sony 18-105 F4 G lens. Kind of pricey for a beginner like me but it does everything I primarily want a camera lens to do.
I currently use my iPhone 6s for everything, but I am looking to cop a good DSLR. Do you guys have any suggestions or preferences??? My max price would probably be around $2,000. @teejkolesnik @Cooper Eddy
Yo dude! Miss you man. Wish I could make it back out to PA and sesh with you. Reminiscing on Tour footy and that PA event. Good time! My suggestion would be the Canon 60D. I was brought into the canon relm with the help from Jero and Jake. I've been wanting to upgrade, but school comes first. Here's some insight on the 60D. I just dropped the link for ya. Will be more helpful. I currently shoot with the t3i and I love it. Great for both video and photo. Has the swivel screen (perfect for selfie video mod or to get those rad hero shots). The 60D has a lot more to offer w/ an affordable price. invest in some dope lenses too. 50mm 1.4 is my current jam. Here's the link for more info on the 60D though. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/...s/details/cameras/dslr/eos-60d?pageKeyCode=43
I miss you too homie! It was so awesome that you came out to PA. Now I should come out to Cali! Thanks so much for the camera and lens suggestions. I will seriously take these into consideration. Really excited to bring my imagery to a new level with a nice dslr and graphic design classes. Maybe someday I will have my Instagram game at "Level Teej" hahaha. Congrats on 26K followers. I am so stoked to peep the Make Waves tour footage!
