a few months ago I was just playing som dama in my room, and then my dad came in to clean something up or something like that. I just kept on playing, and then he picked up one of my damas (there was 4 damas at the table, a slaydawg Nihon ash, slaydawg 3DDon, krom maple naked Pelle and then a tribute) and of cause because my dad knows NOTHING about kendama he picked the tribute! Anyways. I tried to teach him how to hold the ken and some basic stuff like that because he holds the ken in the weirdest way ever. He landed a few big cups in the new grip that I learned him (ken grip) then he said "it feels so weird to hold it like that, give me a trick to lace and I will do it in the way that I hold the ken" and I was like "ok do an earth turn" because I knew he had been trying to do that for ages. And BOOM he laced it first t. He then threw the dama in my bed and walked away, and I was like "dad do it again, you gotta get consistent" but ever since he has never wanted to try it again. Probably Because he knows that he will fail.... @Dæmon
The day I got my Kendama me and my cousin stayed up until 12:00 and just jammed earlier that day the second I got it I brought it home and showed my mom and dad what you do but I of course couldn't do it yet. after watching me attempt it a few times he says "give me that" and stomps a freaking spike first T. I felt stupid and that's what basically motivated me in the beginning of my kendama days. @Dæmon
PSA: If everyone could please take the time to visit these anti-bullying websites, that would be fantastic. (There are plenty more, but I list a few.) Reading, listening, and spreading the word about the negative mental, emotional, and physical effects of bullying could raise awareness among the Kendama community, and among other communities as well. Let's all strive to stop bullying and to create tolerance, awareness, and harmony. Let's all encourage each other to build a kind, harmonious, and happy Kendama community. Let's all spread the Kendama love! www.glaad.org/spiritday www.stopbullying.gov www.stompoutbullying.org Shout out to my wonderful and talented girlfriend, @Jenny Cho , for illustrating my story and putting it all together in "story" format! It came out so awesome and cute! Love it! Thanks, babe! And thank you to everyone who read this! Much love! ❤️ @Dæmon
@Chelsea May Perez @Jenny Cho Wow this is so amazing! I love it! Have you considered getting it published as an epub or even using one of various websites to get this made into a physical book form? Some folks might really dig it! (I think you can get it made so you don't have to buy a bunch of inventory but they do a print on demand type of thing when someone orders. Just something to think about!)
ok guys @Chelsea May Perez win, we can all go home now XD ahahahaha congrats for you & your new slaydawg XD
