Yea, it seems to lack the sort of 'accomplishment' / 'goal' that kendama has when you spike a trick, but I guess thats just flow toys in general. (actually, I think this is a factor in kururin being a hit... it has a definite 'I did it!' moment)

As a rough guide, it seems like 20-30 grams is sort of the 'sweetspot' for most people (total mass of the setup), with ~5" to 5.5" of paracord or whatever in between them. It depends on your hand size a bit, but different string lengths just make different tricks possible. At first it was weird when I switched lengths, but it seems as I learn more I become better able to adapt. Almost all my sets are slightly different lengths now.

If you are looking to buy a set, the around square stuff is honestly really nice. The guy who runs it lives in Vancouver as well, and he seems like a super legit dude, I've spent a couple of days hanging out with him talking shop and jamming toys. He also invented monkey knuckles (another skill/flow toy)!

I totally have a pair of monkey knuckles! Haha. When I saw them, they reminded me of the atrojax that I got when I was a kid (I still have them) and I picked some up. I never really got into the monkey knuckles but they are cool. Begleri hits such a sweet spot of size, portability, kind of a cross between pen spinning, balisong, and....something else?? Yeah I want to get into it. Gotta save up and get an around square set for sure.

Yea, thats one thing I really like, I can literally just throw them in my pocket and I don't even notice they're in there!

Lately my go-to set has been either the brass or copper 'Everyman' set from around square. They haven't dropped yet, but they're rad: very basic but I like em! Otherwise, I feel like the Titan Aluminum sets they make are probably my next fave, and good bang for your buck.

I have a set of monkey knuckles in the shop, but I haven't really gotten into them much, just a little here and there. They seem like a more controllable version of astrojax (I have some of those in the shop too).

It felt really cool lol and I actually had a witness. Do most people feel offset hole helps a lot for lunars or no? I landed it on my rwb maple which does have the offset but I was curious because it did seem it would bemaybe a little harder on a centered string hole but can't even land them to get an impression on how much difference it would make.

From dead centre to a small offset won't be a huge difference, but a really far offset stringhole might take some adjusting. I suppose its just personal preference, but if you put the string hole really far away from the usual spot it might start to play pretty weird.

Two-turn to lunar, double flip to lighthouse, double flip to lunar, flip in. Also a lot of my tricks today ended with a double j-stick, I'm finally getting consistent in those! Good day for doubles!

WOW okay I really didn't think I'd be able to land this today, but I did and even got it on tape. Can someone tell me what the real name of this might be?

Essentially I prepped like I was going to do UFO but it only rotated 180 degrees and I swooped in to balance a lighthouse, so I guess it would be:

airplane, .5 UFO lighthouse, falling in

This was a huge level up for me. I have been practicing a lot of balance and stall tricks, but this is my first time doing a horizontal balance trick.

I just laced my first two turn-dub tap jug spike! Stoked because I've tried to mess with two turn taps without any success until this point.
Side-note- if anyone has a fresh(or nearly fresh) Teej ken and a beaten in raw ash...String it up

Yea, that name sounds about right.
Chaz Edwards was one of the old Sweets pros, he pioneered a lot of those style of tricks. He invented UFO -> Lunar, and then did a ton of UFO -> lighty variations in one of his edits as well
