Two plus straight hours of trying to hit a KWC trick. The ender always kicks me in the groin (metaphorically) hahahaha!
Umm I dunno... probably pretty long. The around handlestall USA trick I did once took me like... I dunno... maybe 8-9 hours of filming to get a shot I was happy with? I hit it multiple times in that time, but had the camera battery die once, and twice I just didn't really like the framing of the shot in the end, so I kept re-doing it. I once spent ~2.5 hours solo seshing in Asakusa market, from like 1:30 am - 4:00 am. I had been out enjoying the city with Rod, Sweets, Ruisch, and Yuka, then we hit up Sweets' hotel for an onsen sesh. After that I left to head back to my hostel, but stopped to sesh in a spot that is well-known to many pro players, since it was dead quiet, and normally during the day it is crazy busy in the market. I hit a few around the handle / bird type tricks, which I was pretty hyped on considering we'd been drinking beers all night haha. Thats a fond memory, got back to my hostel and fell asleep at like 5am probably. It wasn't really a grind, just a nice sesh to enjoy Japan a little before heading home the next day
Fall 2015. I had just ordered my first dama from BHC customs and I was going to try to get a sponsorship from them. My dama arrived and i decided to go try to hit a trick during the pre-game of a Cubs playoff game and come inside and jam while watching the game. Got pretty into this trick, and after many missed spikes, I decided to call it quits. I walked in and the 8th inning of the game was just starting!
I think maybe only an hour, hour and a half. I think I could do more, but never really wanted to or needed to.
Probably over 4 hours. I was about half a year in and going for a trick way out of my skill set at the time. I laced the trick in the end though, so I guess the grinding paid off.
Around 3-4 hours. Wasn't chasing a particular trick, just seshin'. Got a bad limp for the next two days. My 'bad' knee was killing me
Not anything too specific, just the asakusa market / temple grounds. We visited and filmed a bunch there right at the start of the original KUSA trip, and have been back many times now. Some other teams/players have filmed notable edits there as well, though now that I say that a specific edit isn't coming to mind lol. I feel like sweets crew has filmed there before
Spent 4 hours straight trying to land one trick once, then I did another 2 the next day. Got it a few times but nothing clean so I just kept goin until it was clean.
5hrs. The next day I think I limped around for most of it. Sometimes you just get on that roll and get hungry to lace that trick
About 2 hours. I usually spend sometime grinding for a trick then I just sesh for a little bit. I grind for about 30 mins on a trick then spend the rest of the time on progression.
This is with the aception of occasional seshes with other people who play Kendama that only happen like once every three months. There's no dama scene where I'm from so I'm going on a two year loner dama sesh
