Hey fellow slayers. I've been on DS since last October and I absolutely love it. I've always had one sort of question. What determines your "Name Status?" The Name Status is what I like to call the little tag line underneath your name when you post in a forum. For example, @Cheech_Sander is an Admin, @Ben Lowe is a moderator, @Nick Lectura is a Well-known member, @Steezdiaz is an Active member, I am a member, and there are plenty of new members here on the site.
Well the line underneath your username is generally pretty self explanatory: Admins have certain controls, Moderators have other controls, etc. We fixed a bug with New Members not upgrading to "members", but as for the specific metrics of each, I have to turn that question over to @amor
I have no idea about the "members" stuff. I was an active member for a while and then I somehow became a well-known member. I feel like it may have something to do with how much you use DS? Edit: if you look at the DS trophy points, all of the well known members have 63, so I'm guessing once you get above a certain number your status changes
@Cheech_Sander @Kucdama The user titles depend on DS Trophy points as of this post. Here's the rundown: MINIMUM DS TROPHY POINTS ............................. TITLE 0 ............................. New Member 5 ............................. Member 25 ............................. Active Member 45 ............................. Well-Known Member @Cheech_Sander if you want the ladder changed to something nicer (or Kendama related) or if you want them to depend on messages or likes instead of DS Trophy Points, add a list to pivotal like the table above and I'll get it done asap. It's a quick change. Also there are user "banners" which are the yellow ribbon things that appear under the user title for Staff, Admins and Moderators. Hope this helps! EDIT: As of this edit (February 3rd 2016) here's the title ladder: MINIMUM DS TROPHY POINTS ............................. TITLE 0 ............................. n00b 5 ............................. Member 25 ............................. Honed Member 50 ............................. Slayer 100 ............................. DS Legend
Muchos gracias for this! I've always ran under the notion that Well-Known Members are part of a team, or company or something, making them well known.
Yeah same for me. Chad Covington was the first person I saw as a "well known" member so I figured that that made sense. Then I suddenly became one as well and then I thought "hmm I'm not well known at all" lol. I'm liking these new statuses though! n00b, slayers, and honed members are good descriptions. Hopefully no one gets butt hurt at being called a n00b
@Ben Lowe @htimSxelA dude we are 7 points away from legends haha need to come up with more trophies / awards. Do some brainstorming.
100 - Revered slayer 150 - Legend 200 - Too much free time 250 - Mythical being 300 - Unstoppable Another idea: 150 - Legend.. 200 - Wait for it.. 250 - DARY! 300 - LEGENDARY!
Anyone know how to alter your Downspike ranking?? Is there any specific way to be ranked a slayer, jammer, etc..?
Don't be ashamed of your n00b status there's tons of n00bs in this forum that can out slay the "slayers" here just get involved in forum discussions and you find yourself rising high to slayer status!
[mod mode, engage!] @Q Miller-Edwards, a similar thread exists in the forum, so i've merged the two together, and hopefully the merged thread answers your questions about statuses in DS.
To add info to the above, you can check the current list of "Trophies" available in the "Terms and Rules" section located at the bottom of each page. Additionally while it's cool to get your status up to the next level, a bunch of "me too" posts don't add much to the conversation. Try to add something meaningful to the discussions rather than just trying to raise your post count with quick one word or short phrase comments. People want to know what you think and why.
