I see some videos on Instagram and sometimes people comment "so tech" or "that was tech" I wanna know what "tech" is?
What are tech tricks? How do you know if a trick is tech?

It just means like a well played advanced trick, whether it be multiple juggles or taps, or 1 2 3 goon circles to Downspike. Anything that is just hard to accomplish

Yeah like said above kinda like a hard trick that was a bit tough or tricky to land.

    ˈteknək(ə)l

IMO Tech is more creative balance tricks/combos than spam tricks like juggles & taps. People like Bryan Hansen & Saino Kouya (@feather1 on IG) come to mind when I think of a "Tech" slayer.

First thing I think of when I hear tech is Eric Martin doing a penguin handle-stall!

"Tech" describes a very technical maneuver... usually something that is quite complicated and precise.

It doesn't always have to be super difficult, how about this trick: (sara grip) around every cup, but bounce it off handlestall ridge, penguin style in between each catch, spike it at the end (or bounce to spike at the end?!)
Like, thats kinda tech but not super tough. You have to be honed in on a kinda weird technical move (sara grip handle tap penguin style), so you could still call it 'tech' nonetheless. The deeper into the trick meta you go, the crazier the tricks you can come up with though.

this is the explanation i've been waiting for!
I also never really knew the definition of tech, and was wondering about it. This definition seems to fit with what my general impression.

Christian Frasier seems to get into alot of "tech" for example

It's crazy too because he's just as good in person. He's done some wild stuff off camera just because he wondered if he would be able to do it

Oh I bet he is just fire all the time. I wonder how many crazy tricks he has only pulled out once or twice. Some tricks are just so hard, I wonder what it feels like to stick that?

Yea, C Fraser is a good example. Tech and 'good concept' good hand-in-hand for me... each is nice on their own, but put em together and you have a real nice trick! C Fraser always films great tricks in this regard.
