@Nitram707 Are you a member at EDC Forums, Candlepower Forums, USN etc? Those guys take their Every Day Carry very seriously.
Wooo, I love it. A flashlight forum that dwarves anything the kendama-internet has to offer. Hahaha. Awesome
I used to frequent some of the ridiculous EDC forums and the like. I'm a wannabe flashlight nerd... I have a bunch of cheap chinese knock-offs that are bright as heck but might break if you drop them. I like the idea of EDC but mine end up changing so often day to day that it doesn't really count as the "everyday" part, haha.
Thanks! I have a ton of mechanical hand-winds and automatics but for EDC, nothing beats the ole Casio. Just have to be careful wearing it to the airport. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casio_F-91W
Like I said they take their EDC very seriously. CPF has ~280K members and EDCF ~48K members. I'm looking forward to the day DS has that kind of traffic; it'll be very cool to see.
A man after my own heart: copper bodied Olight, Damascus Kershaw Leek, and ??? OK you got me on this one looks brass with a jewel point. Enlighten me please. I've been looking at the Flytanium Lunar Mini Titanium Spin Top but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Sorry to hear about your pen. Which one was it?
The pen was a boker plus .45 cal heat-colored titanium, was a great EDC. That's an Olight s1 baton, I like it's magnetic tail cap comes in super handy. There's an even smaller form factor from Olight, the s mini that packs 50 more lumens but no magnetic tail cap. That is indeed a leek w/ Damascus. I also have a Chive in Damascus (love Kershaw knives) which I used for EDC, but I mostly carry my leek. The top is manufactured by Dark Sucks (known for his Prometheus lights), it's the Lambda all brass with a ruby contact point, you can find it at http://www.darksucks.com/store_lambda.html. That flytanium lunar mini looks wicked! Love the satin finish. The one I've been eyeballing for some time is the Vorso mk-1. Here's the leek with the chive
This is marginally on topic... but I learned something new yesterday while searching through some begleri / EDC forums: a monkey knuckle knot is (sort of) technically illegal in Canada! '(Sort of) technically' is quite the qualifier mind you, so let me explain further. The situation in which it would be illegal is if you were carrying it for the purpose of self-defense. I'm talking a really big monkey knuckle knot wrapped around something heavy. It would be much larger than anything you would reasonably use as a begleri, so in reality I don't think there is any chance of being prosecuted for carrying a monkey knuckle begleri set around lol. The AO2 titans are heavy, but not that heavy. But anways, carrying around something that can be used as a weapon for self-defense is illegal in Canada, which is something I didn't explicitly know (ie. pocket knife, small club, pepper spray, slingshot {monkey knuckles are mentioned in with slingshots}, etc). That said, people do carry pocket knives, its just a matter of intent (tool is okay, self defence is not). So now you know!
It would likely not have to be all that big to be considered a weapon. The set I made are wrapped around a steel ball bearing and make the Monkey Fist (knuckle) about 1" (2.5cm) but the weight could qualify it as a blackjack/sap type of weapon in some jurisdictions. You might also have problems getting on an airplane with heavy begleri. "Intent" is always kind of nebulous and often hard to prove one way or the other. I used to live where if you had a baseball bat in the car you'd better be coming/going to a game. Same for a tire iron (mechanic), ax handle (lumberjack), etc.
