C'mon, you've read the title. Let's get it out of the way. We've all broken at least one thing while doing a spacewalk or when we were just too into it, but what specifically have you broken through playing kendama? For me, personally, I accidentally broke off a corner of a sheet of glass that sits over one of my tables, and now I'm stuck looking at something that can't be replaced. I was doing a spacewalk, and because I usually sesh near that table(because that's where my work area is), my dama went flying towards it at high speed when I lost control of it. Before I could say,"Oh sh-", BAM! A pretty big piece of glass was now sitting on the carpet under the table corner, and I just stood there with my hands over my mouth. Right now, it's sorta hot glued back, but it's hidden under some of my books that I use for school. I guess this is why you listen to Keith in KUSA's spacewalk tutorial video... Oh wait, I'm now inspecting the damage, and there's a REALLY long crack that stretches almost all the way from one side to the other! Fortunately, there aren't any other signs of it extending any further, but hopefully it doesn't cost too much to get it replaced.
Maybe I've been lucky (or not), the only things I've messed up related to kendama have been body parts. Playing a billet aluminum or Kenzilla can take their toll too.
Haven't broken anything WITH a dama, but my tripod tipped over about 2 minutes after I laced a couple days ago and it busted my phone. Didn't even have a chance to get the footage! Now I use lots of counterweights and don't set the tripod at it's highest point. Lesson learned.
Hey, you're lucky it was just a piece and didn't spiderweb across the whole sheet. Sounds like you got out of that one easy!
Glass cup, fixture on my ceiling light (the thing that you screw the lightbulb into), small tama dent in my laptop, and cracked phone screen from a missed downspike and the tama hitting my pocket
You ever try to do a UFO and you get it in but the tama and whole thing flies out of your hand? Happened to me when I was trying to lace my first ever dub UFO years and years ago. Flew right out of my hand and destroyed a 42" Sony Bravia lol. Sorry mom.
Omg I was there when @RodDama did that holy that was unreal Smashed out my front two teeth learning inward lighthouse flip, pulled the ball in too hard and well yup..
I dropped a bamboo tribute on a new iPad once, cracking the screen and actually somehow breaking the touch sensor.
I think I was doing whirlwinds and I missed the kenflip? I can't really remember but I'm pretty sure it was whirlwinds.
Damn, that sucks! I usually drop my dama when doing turntables and also whirlies(whirlwinds) as well!
Reading about breaking something brings me to this hilarious instagram video... Listen to the noise of a breaking window after this crazy celebration scream gets me!
