Anyone have any info on Yancy Customs Kendamas? Anyone ever played one, know what they are like, other info etc. Available here: http://yancycustoms.bigcartel.com/
True. Well ima wait til someone sheds some light on the company and I'd be stoked to own one. I dig the multi-wood sarado aesthetic. And I think it should make the balance that much better.
Yancy is very real, still trying to find the perfect tamas for them. @Sirwillcode It's not entirely for aesthetics, based on the description, it's partially due to function which is pretty awesome. Kudu: - K 37.7g - S 42.4g free image upload api Okapi: - K 35g - S 39.4g website for uploading photos
Their tamas are super tacky tacky out of the bag, and once you break them in with your play style it'all become a daily jammer.
Yancy makes their Sarados HUGE. I've compared their small cup to a normal sized sarado dama, and it's like a big cup. Yancy's are meant for lunars, because of the balance hole and huge/deepish cups.
Currently, I only have the Okapi strung up. I paired it with the DWI Merlot Zebrano Sticky AF. This is American made oak + wenge Ken with a great lunar balance! The oak and wenge feel like hickory with the open pores and durability. The open pores add "grip" to balance tricks like ash kens. The grain patterns on these are beautiful. Cup rims are arched similarly to the 2.0's. The tama bevel see-saws on the slip stall, but that will even out as the tama is broken in. Comes with micro bearing and a silky string similar to Sweets Premium. Great Ken! I highly recommend. *Kudu shown with RWB Hickory tama*
That picture doesn't do it justice. The bottom 30 of the split is bronze with a glitter flake effect. I'll take some more pics with just the Okapi setup.
I know right, technology. Yancy customs are sick though, after seeing your setups Im over here biting my knuckles and shit.
