They are juuust too large. GLOKEN made the KWC box after we released the LBBs, so unfortunately they're not quite to competition spec (though they have been allowed in most other contests). I think the spike is like 0.5mm too long (so a ken that has been played enough to flatten the spike out will probably fit, height-wise), and the sarado is like 1.5mm too wide. Its soo close haha. And yea, Rod and I put a couple of beech LBBs on the lathe last year, and modded them down to size. Worked well, thought obviously this isn't really an option for most people. I've been working on creating a comp-sized dama, but with all the other projects I have on the go, its been slow to bring to life.
@Jack Harris @Congarranza There have been a couple Q's about future LBB releases, so here's some info on what to expect for the next little while: Our usual game is to make small batches of each model, trying to always keep it fresh. When we say 'small batches' we really do mean it: for example the oak LBBs were limited to 15 of each colour, once they're sold out thats it! So with that in mind, we do have some new stuff lined up: an epic collab dropping real soon (the packaging just finished printing today! Woo!), as well as two as-of-yet unreleased wood species (tamas to be determined for those). Very excited to get them released! Enough talk, here's a nice photo. SkatePly: its a collab with the skate/snow company that sponsor Terra pro @Heshisfresh, they pressed together some blanks using the same Canadian hard maple that goes into their skateboards. These things look sick, and being skateboard maple, they're solid feeling af! Check out Olive Skateboards, they make their own decks in Canada, super legit! Yes, the ken seals are laser-cut out of griptape
Well, I somehow missed the release of the skateply to get the green goddess, but scored on my purple queen.
Just scooped the new skateply last night and I've got the white oak mod as well! A little bit heavy for my liking but that may just be the set up I got. Still a very fun ken regardless
@Brucey What does the scale read on your white oak Ken and tama? The info on the website for skateply says 100g Ken and 103g tama (avg).
I don't remember the exact weights but it was low 100's. I saw that about the skateply's though. I'm not worried. I plan on jamming it a little and then making the homies jealous with it
@Ryan Brewer check the last post on the first page of this thread for a comparison photo with a whole bunch of different brands / models. LBBs are ~10% larger than a JKA-spec kendama
My Purple Queen Olivia just showed up on time for my birthday weekend: @htimSxelA @TerraKendama @RodDama great work!! Time to party!!!!! T:96.8g K:100.3(k:49.8,s50.5)
What's next for Terra? I'm looking to pick one up soon and was just wondering what would be dropping next!?
I would guess it's a GT Ken with terra paint tama. Otherwise an LBB with a raw ash tama? The latter doesn't sound too appealing. Only time will tell…(or @TerraKendama ,@htimSxelA , @RodDama )
I think the LBB ken and raw ash tama would be pretty cool. Especially if they add the extras bevel to the tama and add some tracking burn lines.
@Sir Spike @Congarranza Keep an eye on the GT instagram / site for full details, should be posted within a week at most I think. Good guesses, but not quite what we have planned! We went a little deeper on this collab, stoked on how its turning out, can't wait to show it off in public!
I am so excited to see what you guys have came up with! Can you share any details? Maybe size or wood?!
I almost pulled the trigger on that Terra Skateply ! Really wanted it yet we were going on Vaca and the wifeY WOULD'VE KILLED ME ! June 15th day here too , would've made my day too ! Congrats and Happy Bday brother ! ( oh yeah .....chatter , chatter , chatter ...lol )
