With Thrasher Magazine having voting going on for 2016 Soty (Skater of the year), it made me think what it would be like to have a similar award for Kendama. Hold voting for people who killed competitions, or put out the craziest video parts, or people that were just incredibly active in the community! The tough thing would be who would be that third party group to hold the voting so it was not biased. What are your thoughts on it?
Man, that sounds like a great idea, and I really hope it becomes a reality! It makes me stoked because I feel like even if some players don't necessarily win every competition, they still play a major role in the kendama community. Examples are: Jake Wiens, Chad Covington, Christian Fraser, and many others! I'd like to see more insight on how to form this voting system down below because that sounds kind of tough.
Tj. He's continuously pushing kendama every single day and is all about it. Probably the most popular player there is right now and is a role model to so many.
Yea thats the tough part. I think KendamaOC has the right idea by letting people in fkc vote, i wish there was a way to open that up to more though. Maybe through downspike honestly.
My bad i guess i made the title misleading haha, this thread is more about what you think of the idea of having that type of award! But if we were naming candidates TJ would be up there for sure.
This is kinda cool! I especially like that it is not entirely based on skill, which I think everyone feels is really important. Just for the fun of it, I think I would vote on Rolf. He has really become on of the more known players this past year, has shown a lot of great results at tournaments and is just a really nice guy.
