Yeah same. i haven't tried a hickory yet and I think it's about time. Birch is my favorite so far expecially paired with raw ash.
I have 2 hickory kens and they smell great and are very durable. I actually don't know which to get now. I only have a Yancy Customs Okapi that's mixed oak x wenge. My Kotodama S1 has birch and that's an awesome tama.
