This is the first year that Japan has taken the title home. おめでとおう ございます、日本。 2. This is also the first year that all three podium winners are of different countries (2016 : 1-2. USA, 3. JPN // 2015 : 1-2-3. USA // 2014. 1-2. USA, 3. JPN). 3. The “KWC Curse” maintains - with no back-to-back or return winners. 4. So Kanada also happens to be very first KWC winner, to not be sponsored by any company - though that might change, considering how much he loves Sweets Kendamas. 5. So also spent 9 whole seconds trying to hit a Level 12 trick, that he had *already* hit earlier. Imagine what the score will be like if he were to hit a Level 10 instead. 6. And just like last year, the Champion, and his two runner-ups are underaged, and are unable to enjoy their victory sake. END OF DAY 1! KWC finalists (35 in total)! 01. Damn man, not USA cats taking the last two slots. Maybe you should have taken that bet afterall. And no Ben Herald in open?
Bryson still got the highest score, hopefully he brings his A game tonight and becomes the first repeat. If he does he will hold the new Level 12 record and forever hold the Level 10 record...rooting for the home team on this one. Also a big shout out to Liad for being the only non-seeded contestant to lock in a position outside of Japan and the US, pretty epic. Kinda shocked Bonz only got 52 though, I know kendama can be so hit and miss from day to day but that is a shocker.
I think it had to be that bonz knew he was in so he fooled around. So as to not show the competition all his skills.
I think Liad is taking it home! Even tho he might not have the best experience with competing in front of many people, he still is consistent af!!
I personally want any member of sweets to win but I am rooting for Lukas dude has gotta be tired of coming in 2nd
Just for the record - Andrei is not the European Champ, (that is still me for at least a week). Cima said he was the highest scoring European there, and was therefore awarded the bye in to the final. Looking to win EKO again and make it out next year for a second shot!
