    There's a company, Yumu Kendama, that lets you upload an image and have it engraved on the base. You can also have text or patterns on the handle or tama, respectively. I'd highly recommend it!

    (Maximum cred to whoever gets the theme of the dama)

    Drawing "straight lines" on a concave surface was weird. It gave me flashbacks of my advanced calculus years in college.

    I love personalizing all my damas! It's a great way to make your dama stand out and become your own. It's awesome how kendama brings out creativity in people, whether its filming/editing/music/selection of tricks.

    I've been working on customizing my GT KA mod since August 12th; I'm getting super close to finishing it now and the feeling of finishing a long kendama project is like grinding for that new trick. Here's a sneak peek of the tama (which is my first tama I've burned; I usually just stick with the kens)

    Can't wait to finish the custom then jam this dama into sawdust. #destroyalldamas

    @Monkayglands That's awesome!

    also, I love the mentality of creating something that takes so much effort, and playing it afterward. Its much more worth it hat way than to just save it!

    @Guy LaBorde @TerraKendama

    I finally finished this custom; took me about 60 hours in total.

    Can't wait to jam this into sawdust now.

    To anyone scared of getting into personalizing their own damas; I started practicing on wooden dowels that I found that are roughly the same thickness as the kensaki, near the tip.

    Wow, this is just incredible, the detail here is next level. It would definitely be hard for me to play something like this after putting so much time into it.

    @KendamaJas when you're just starting and learning; the inexpensive burners will work just fine. I spend $25 for the burner I have.

    @lategreat808 I'm super proud of the work I put into this dama; so I gotta jam it. At least that way more people will see it. It's so awesome playing dama in public and someone comes up to ask what it is, then I'm able to show them kendama & as a bonus, my art too.

    I have a small Japanese "hanko" with my name in Japanese that I sometimes stamp on my kendama on the flipside of the seal.

    Just found this thread and feeling lucky that I started customising my kendamas few weeks ago as I got my mini lathe and woodburn kit.

    Here's the first custom tama I've put my hands on, while just completed another one yesterday...

    which I use to replace the broken Norx promod ken(well RIP), and they both slay really on point.
