They are "Jumbos". Sold on the KUSA WEBSITE and KROM makes a Viking also.

I know kusa has like a 5 pounder at their hq. Like a wrecking ball. I played it and it's a work out to say the least. And there is no string that wont break on it so it goes stringless.

Gotcha!! Not sure who is still producing bigger damas. Here's a chart though to ask around or to help interpreting Japanese websites.

I have a couple of XXXLs. They're both reeally beat up these days though. They're so heavy, they really just get beat and chipped to crap if you sesh them at all. Super awesome though, I love em!

This is from the KROM website. They sell a 2XL and 3XL. Or they used to. Don't know if they still have them available. If I remember right the 2XL is Emperor size. I personally don't have anything larger than the Emperor, Klack 'Full Moon'. It's a workout in itself.

Yes. IIRC it's about 34cm tall which would put it in the same neighborhood as the Bahama Kenzilla or the KROM XXL.

Yea, honestly the ozora jumbos (taiyo, emporer) are not really worth the money though, the quality and shape of them is pretty bad compared to other options currently available. Back in the day they were the only options, but now times have changed

Really, in what way is the shape and quality lower on the Ozora Emperor models vs the competition? I've never handled an Emperor so I'd be curious what to look for in larger kendama.

One thing is the tama shape on emperors is all over the place, the one Rod owns is reeally bad lol. I'll see if I can post some pics one day

That said, maybe newer productions have been more on point, some of the ones I've seen are quite old (5+ years), and back then players didn't look at damas in such a technical way.

Pix and more info would be helpful. Is it only the tama that is weird? Also are they laminates or single pieces of wood?

We've been using a Bahama Kendama Kenzilla (laminate) for on-stage visibility but although it's fairly unwieldy other than that it's held up pretty well. I just two part epoxied the tip and hung it upside down to let gravity reshape the tip. It's only been a few days but I think it will work out well. At a kilo and a half it takes a little forethought to avoid getting whacked. I also am using ~50KG line on it but still have to replace fairly regularly to make sure there are no accidental breaks.
