The mint padauk kaizen is a beauty The natty classic @sambarboo mentioned is pretty legit for the price! JKA-sorta size, but they're birch which is awesome When they go back in stock one day... the Craft Slim + is the best thing out there!
I wish the new TK16 was birch like it was before. Beech is okay I guess, but I was expecting birch for durability.
Heh, I actually grabbed the grape padauk when they had that $11 sale. Beautiful dama but I can’t say I enjoy playing it more than my sweets prime. The craft slim+ is def in my sights. Thanks!
best damas are the kaizen 2.0s (all slay, cant go wrong!) and the craft plus slim! Everyone deserves to try these shapes!
It’s safe to say that my first KUSA dama was a Kaizen, and I have some Kaizen 2.0s, Craft 2.0 and Slim as well as Craft Plus and Craft Slim Plus, and they’re ALL great!!!
So true. Anyone getting into kendama needs to start with kendamaUSA. They are a perfect combination of classic shapes, taken to new compitition ready levels. My entire first year - maybe 2 years was all #kusalife, and I still use their new 2.0 and crafts these days.
my most honed setup right now is a TJ mod tama on a beech kaizen ken. SLAYS lunars. The 2.0 shape is also good.
My current KUSA setups are the 2.0 maple Lakers half split, and the 2.0 Ash Trip splits. In the winter, the wood contracts, allowing the sarado to slip down, honing lunars
Primes are good too, but they are a lot less reliable, and the factory and shape they have makes the weights really random so sometimes you will get a lunar god, other times, a piece of trash. I have been lucky with my prime, and it lunars so well, but I really like how the kaizen 2.0 shape feels and plays!
