That's true as well. I feel all styles are equally important in kendama. OG style represents flare and creativity whereas newschool juggles demonstrate practice, perseverance, and hand-eye coordination.
The thing i hate most about modern tapping, is how its always x taps to juggle. always. I cool that people can lace 10 taps, but then they juggle spike it. It would be way cooler to see 10 taps straight to in, lighthouse or lunar.
Same dude! It just isn't satisfying and anticlimactic when people juggle out. But I do respect people for getting 10 taps and above. It should be ok to juggle out the first time, but in the future, may be not
Sir, I believe KenCo used to call a line of their Shenzu kendamas "keyaki" when in fact they were made out of another type of elm (not sure about this though, needs verification).
Seriously, ugh. I wouldn't have thought that would be a "thing." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ For anyone interested in the biology side, and Janka rating, of Keyaki check here: Zelkova serrata (Japanese zelkova) - Keyaki
When HNL had their own dama line they had one advertised as keyaki too but was a dark elm (compared it to my first run Sol Vibes ken which were all dark elm setups). I know Bonzai Kendamas has an elm dama also called keyaki but not really sure what kind of elm it really is.
heres another one- reviews on damas that are like- ***** "I finally got the hole on the ball to get on the pike!"
lol, that was a joke, he slays like crazy killing the tap game and stuff. But I do agree with the overuse of juggles.
Kids who can quad tap into dub jug to Downspike, but don’t know what a c whip is. Or any basic tech trick.
Seeing a guy who runs a kendama vlog and kendama unboxings and when he gots a kendama that we can see on the first sight that has a bad lunar balance because it has super short spike. He puts it in lunar position almost perpendicular and says "hmm I like the lunar balance on it"
I feel like the next generation after juggle kenflip kenflip gunslinger juggle kids will be like this. The steeze revolution! I'm still tying to find my style... I'm going to start honing the basics as I think I'm slowly becoming new gen Nothing against new gen players.
