Sweets Kendamas annual #28trickslater challenge starts in less than a week! Just wanna see what setups everyone plans on using, so pics are highly encouraged.
I'm gonna be using a fresh OG Kaizen Make Waves mod. An excercise like this should really help jam that short spike down.
I'm probably going to use a StrawGirry x Beech Ozora for my setup to see how much I can break in a fresh Girr in just one month.
Either the fresh yellow Ozora or the semi fresh light blue Ozora to break one of them in (dubbed the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan Blue). Made a trick list that’ll hopefully help me level up and break my dama in.
I just realized that I'm only going to have about 20-30 minutes each day to film my trick, so I need to get some quickies in for each day. Should I avoid long combos?
It’s up to you. Last year I had about an hour or so since i worked 2 jobs and could only sesh at night after work. Now I’m only working one so I have basically all day to chase my tricks (well, until my phone dies). But yeah, maybe avoid long combos but hit short/quick tricks that arent in your repertroire yet. I’m doing both.
Waiting my exchange Eclipse ken to mashup with my DWI Lucifer Rubber tama, if not I'll just go with Sweets Norx pro mod tama w/ Ozora maple ken
Same, it'll be my first time doing this challenge. From what I understand, you pick one kendama, then you post a trick on your instagram every day for the month of February. This is why everyone's posting the setups they'll be using for #28TricksLater
Totally forgot that next month is also JKA month. The Kendama OC team will be rocking JKA only damas all month (no mashups ex. Ozora ken x KUSA pro mod tama)
Last year’s 28TricksLater challenge really leveled up my game. To anyone considering it, I highly recommend sticking with it for the whole month, even if every trick you hit isn’t something brand new to you. I’ll be using the opportunity to break in my Terraply GT-1 x GT Hick. Sorry KenOC, no can do on the JKA daam ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For those curious as to what this challenge is. #28trickslater is a challenge Sweets Kendamas started last year, where participants joining choose one kendama and post a new trick on their instagram every day for the month of February. If you miss a day, post 2 tricks the next day. If you miss 2 days, post 3 tricks the next day. Doesn't matter what kind of trick, whether it's soft, fire bangers, long lines, singles, or even tricks you landed before but could still work on. This is a challenge to keep your skills honed and to level up. Some people (like me) have even made trick lists so they have an idea of what kind of tricks they want to chase and what areas they want to work on. Push yourself. Many of us managed to lace a number of new tricks in one month than we didn't think we could in such a short time span before. Doesn't matter what dama you choose to use, fresh, seshed, semi fresh, someone last year even chose to use a pill instead of a kendama which was cool. Dude had some sick footage. As long as you stick to your choice. A lot of people chose natties as their challenge dama, some chose damas with sticky/grippy paint. Obviously, we cannot keep track of whether or not you're using just the one kendama you chose for the challenge outside of filming or force you to use just the one kendama. As long as you're completing the challenge with your chosen dama.
