Welcome to the kendama binge-buying discussion and/or support group. Share your kendama binge-buying stories here, and discuss! Starting this group because I went on an impulse buying spree today. Spent about 30 dollars (1500 pesos) on kendamas today and it was completely on impulse. I feel bad, but at least I'm set for the year.
This has NEVER happened to me...not even once. Voice in the back of my head, "Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery."

I was under house arrest for my first 5 months of kendama play and I bought probably close to 50 Kendamas in that time
Ohh wow! It was kind of different in my case. Stuck to about 5 kendamas in my first year of playing. The collecting addiction just started recently for me.
For clarification, I only got the middle 3 for $30. The company owner had a 1 day only sale. I've played with Philken kendamas before and I find them really good at their price point (around $20). The two Lyon Kendamas, I got from Andrei Cudia for 30 dollars (separate from the other 3). He had a clearance sale last December, and they came in the mail a few days ago.
Andrei Cudia really hooked it up for me. I think I got six kendamas for like $60...and they play really well so there is that.
Ahh. I see. Well very nice either way. You are set for quite a while then. Are they weight matched? What kinda paint is on the philkens?
I’ve been playing a little over four months and I’ve racked up 8 Kendamas in this time frame. They’ve all come from good sales except my first one which I paid full price for (sweets prime stripe) and the last one which I paid full price for (v10 purpleheart). The Christmas twofer sale that kusa had helped out too.
Starting with June 2017 I bought a Ken each month.. only month I didn't cop one was January because i bought shoes haha Already copped one for February. The addiction is real
2/3 of them aren't weight matched, but they're tama heavy so I can live with it. They have a rubber paint on it similar to Krom Rubber paint.
I am def. Guilty of this. I'll go to the kusa warehouse looking to get some bearings and a couple strings and leave with 3 damas bc they were on sale or something. And I have so many fresh ones. I could prolly play all my damas for years before I'll actually need another one. But I'll prolly buy another one by the end of February.haha
I thought I was doing good with my kendama rehab until I saw Phill selling a Krom Deluxe at Kendama Philippines. Reason for buying: it was pink and it was for PHP 1,500. Before this, I brought home 5 kendamas from Tokyo - 3 we’re gifts and 2 were personal purchases and that’s when I decided I needed to stop acquiring more. I wanted to keep using what I have before getting more. But just a few months ago I bought a Sumo. And now this.
This has happened many times. When I was looking for a third kendama, since my previous ones were thrashed, I bought a Padauk mint, Cherry, and a Wenge pill all from KUSA. Another time, I bought an Aynedter Mod, a 6 year Bday, and Slay Dawg Pro model, this was probably my most expensive buy, going over $200 for only 3 kendamas, but let me tell you, it was WORTH IT
