Hey everyone. I just wanted to ask: What is the best way to fix a dama with loose cups? I've seen things saying that a sticky note is the best way, but I haven't had the best luck when I try them myself
search for my post in the dama hacks thread on page 4, i use ultra thin double sided tape which works fantastic update: heres the tape
I superglue it. If you REALLY want the cups to just stay there put superglue on em. It's not permanent because after a while they come off
I use plain old scotch tape. I fold a small strip over on itself and flatten it. Then I place it just below the string hole on the ken and slide the sarado over it and push it down. Works like a champ.
@Kucdama this tweak is mentioned in a number of other related threads as well as here: Kendama Bumpers & Other Tweaks.
is that what your voice sounds like?! I'm going to have to read all your posts with that voice in the future...
I just about choked on my orange juice when I started laughing. I'm going to take that as a compliment if it's OK with you. Yes that's my voice, or one variation, I've done some voice work/narration before though I've been too busy lately to keep up with it. When I was doing more of it the Japanese always wanted me to do something like Darth Vader doing a Tractor Pull announcer's voice; always fun though.
Does anyone know how to fix lose cups? i got a sweets custom v6 blue dream and i re-stringd it and now the cups are lose i don't wanna glue the cups does anyone know a better way?
I swear by beige acid free poster putty. I roll up a very little ball of it and put in above the string hole on the ken and a little to the side of the string hole. Push down over that putty and it stays put. You barely have to use any at all so one pack of poster putty would last you ten years.
Hi I've been playing with my prime v10 hot choco-latte and the cups everytime I do like orbit or even big cup they slide how do I fix that
I will sometimes glue the sarado (the crosspiece with the big and small cup) to the ken (the wooden portion of the bottom cup and spike) which is a semi permanent fix. Otherwise a quick fix is to fold and cut a post it note so it can be wedged between the sarado and ken. Here is a tutorial from sweets:
