This is the confessional. A thread to commiserate on any and all kendama "ragrets" you have had in your dama career. Did you forget a mugen at a bus stop? Miss a once in a lifetime drop? Or miss a spike on a trick that you tried for 3 months? Maybe we can help each other out. I'll start- I got a pretty rare JKA kendama. It was not a mugen; but just as old. It was dried out; I mean parched. I idiotically slathered it with coconut oil, not realizing that coconut oil has an expiration date. Now whenever I pick up that kendama, this is me:
I regret not getting my fundamentals locked down early. While it's still not too late, it's frustrating how my whirlwinds are inconsistent as hell.
@Cheech_Sander Ah man that sucks about the smell. Would some kenditioner mask the smell at all I wonder? I ragret not starting playing kendama when I was first introduced to it. I might have mastered juggles by now if I had!
My biggest is definitely not playing Kendama as long as I’ve had one, I got my first TK about 10 years ago. Aside from that my only other “ragret” would be giving my light blue Ozora away. It was to spread some dama love though so I’m cool with it.
For me, it's probably how bad I am at stalls. I'm SOOOO bad at bird over the valley especially. And also not copping a keyaki and yellow ozora on sunday. Besides that, I ragret not having enough variety in my collection. I have two OG's and two 2.0 kaizens, and three sweets primes. I only have 10 damas. Not that these are bad damas at all, but I think one of each of those would be sufficiant and then I could get some analog, DWI, or whatever else.
A few things that I ragret: -Not finding out about kendama earlier -Not being able to go to Kendama Syndicate for speed ladders even though I live only a few minutes away from Great Mall here in Milpitas -Picking a Yomega and Toysmith as my first damas 3.5 years ago -Not making an Instagram page earlier to find out about events and to post tricks
playing stingless in my year one... well one incident in college is that one class where we got nothing to discuss or anything so free for all. so i try play dama at that time & i accidentally toss it right my professor's watch... i was so in shock & i internally paranoid. i said sorry & luckly, my prof was cool with it... moral of the story: try everything within your first year of playing dama, but do it in the open & not where there's a crowd like your classroom, house. Basically keep yourself away from anything fragile.
If I had started playing earlier, I could've gotten a chance at getting the premiere line of KUSA pro mods and snag a piece of history along with old JKAs that have been forgotten in time...dama collecting would've been so much easier now that I think about it.
I regret slamming my Kaizen 2.0 that I just opened a few minutes ago into the floor out of rage. Now the spike is lopsidedly flat and there’s a giant dent on the side of the tama that’s ready to peel off. I never slam my damas, let alone the freshies so it says a lot about how frustrated I was.
I was just trying it out with some simple lighthouse juggle line but the string snagged every single time and kept forcing the dama straight into the floor. I already sanded the spike as much as I could
Dude that Huayna Picchu shot is awesome!!! Unfortunately, they were sold old of tickets the time I went.
Thanks! Macchu Picchu is beautiful with or without the hike up to Huayna Picchu. We bought the tickets months in advance and noticed that some of the days were already sold out. As for the Rez kens, you better capitalize on their last drop!
