I think the prices are in New Zealand Dollars.

Here is the seal that they used on the those Sanrio products. They are legit. Here's a thread about them: Hello Kitty Kendama

    Hi everyone!

I recently bought this beauty of Ben from Kendamalondon. But I really want to learn a bit more about this dama. Like how many were made. Or how rare is it compared to the other jka mugens.

It’s the sparkling Jka OG Mugen.

    Cheers!

    @goenKendama
    Thanks!
I watched that video. But i couldn’t really tell if the dama I have was one them in the video?

Matt later in the video showed a blue mugen which he said was given to the JKA. I think he called it the blue pearl? Is that the same as mine?

Looks like it might be. I have a photo of one of those JKA competition prize kendama but it's in Japan so I don't have access to it currently. I'll have to check it when I get back.

Oh! Thats an actually very rare Mugen.
There are several models of Mugen that were made only to be given as gifts to all the competitors of the big JKA contests. I believe this is one of them, so it is probably limited to something like 50-100 pieces, and was produced sometime 2003-2008 ish. This model was not available outside of that event as far as I've ever known, unless you got it secondhand.

Other Mugens produced in limited numbers for contests:
    Emerald Green
    Sparkly purple
    Pokeball
    YingYang

I believe the ebony was sold outside of contests, but was probably first offered at a contest.

    Am I forgetting any?

question- do ozoras usually come with a super short unplayble spike that you have to sand down significantly to get to a decently playable level?

You just have to jam them a little bit and then the sarado will slip down to a better spot. It is actually a good thing because once they are broken in they will have little to no sarado whobble. Most JKA kendamas kinda fall in line with this same idea. Super short spikes that require so jamming to settle, not uncommon an all.

It's just like the OG Kaizens from KendamaUSA.
Idk why most people complain about the short spike. Just jam it then it'll settle to a good spot

It is always better to have a short spike off the bat and then let it settle. So many people are used to that long spike because of things like Sweets specs. Those have long spikes off the get go but then settle to be too long, sometimes even past that stringhole on the ken, which I consider a flaw in design

I'm glad that you understand it. Most unboxings and comments I see, they complain about the spike length.

To be clear, I'm not complaining, just asking. I do think that something was wrong with my ozora though. The spike was like less than an inch long, much shorter than any OG kaizens or TK's. It wasn't even long enough to where I could jam it to bring it down, and it was really tight in it's spot. I had to sand it a ton to get it even to OG kaizen start length. But I mean, maybe thats just how it is, and I'm getting another ozora sometime this week, so I'll be able to compare. But, now that I've gotten it to a reasonable length after sanding, it's one of my main jammers, I love that thing so much. OG shapes are so underrated.

It sounds like it was shorter than normal, so probably just some variance in manufacturing that they missed. As others mentioned, easy enough to sand it down a little, to move the cups lower.

yeah, I got my second ozora today, and the spike was definitely longer. I think it may be a thing with the new ozoras? Like the ones with the sparkly seal and the ozora kendama printing.

I doubt Ozora changed their specs significantly, the JKA has a very well-established blueprint for what a JKA kendama looks like (which would include cup height, I'm sure). If it was as far off as you mentioned, then its probably just a weird one that snuck through QC.
