First 5 minutes with my Hickory Shift. :( Does anybody have experience fixing/glueing a chip? Probably just user error, but I literally barely touched this thing. Shape is beautiful. Smells like BBQ. ;)

I haven’t gotten mine yet. But I hope this doesn’t happen to it. I’ve glued a kaizen padauk bottom cup edge in the past and just used the Gel Gorilla Glue. But I’ve also used Goop lol. The marine stuff. It holds up well.

You're gonna wanna use wood glue, regular glue (like Kraft) will work fine but wood glue works better.
I also recommend buying a mini clamp. I got one off amazon for pretty cheap and it's made some of my kens basically brand new again.

My process is gluing both the chip and the ken (small dabs on both, the wood glue expands and will kind of drizzle out of the cracks if you put too much on) and then clamping it. Sometimes I do an hour but sometimes I do a full day. Just depends if I'm still tryna play with it that day

WOW... the Shift Hickory is primo! It smells like I just ate a bag of BBQ chips, forgot to wash my hands and then seshed it for 3 hours. This just might be my new favorite wood. Mine has some WILD grain too, and a Jupiter type "red spot" on the tama.

KUSA did an awesome job on this shape and the build quality is on point.

Of course. It’s more of a “white spot” than a “red spot” lol. But you see what I mean, still looks gnarly.

Knew it. Maple dropped today on the KUSA site.
Any guesses to what other wood options KUSA may still have for the new Shift? If there are still any other wood options coming.

Lol thanks dude. I love little nuances of grain like that and the character is always different from wood to wood, so you never know what you ll get.

Will there be more woods? I have bought all 4 so far, but my wallet is paying the toll. I don't know whether to keep pushing to get the collection, or stop at 4. I am saving a couple until MKO next year because I know I will use one of these kens as my comp setup.

My theory is we'll find out next Friday if there will be more woods. If it's going the way I feel like it is (all conjecture at this point), maybe we'll see an elm wood.

    That wood make sence;)
I feel like they will make 4 woods now, and then maybe revisit this shape with different woods in the future... or just make a KAIZEN shift, made in china, with different paints and woods. But personally, I prefer USA manufacturing. #qualityoverquantity

Has anyone got their maple shift yet? I’m so eager to get mine. I’m going to put the ken on a pro clear tama.
