With great power, comes great responsibilities.
I think the pros sorta know this when they signed up for it.
But there are some out there who dedicate themselves to honing their craft, so there's that

TBH with you, all players do that.
Everyone has a certain set of elements that they will always go back to, consciously, or subconsciously. Everyone.

Try asking Thorkild and Liad to switch trick sets for two hours.
They'll suck so bad, they wish they were never born.

If you find that you are able to do the same lines, i think that's great for you!
Don't worry about what others do, and show to people that you could do the same!
Better yet, take it a step further and innovate your own tricks, instead of trying someone else's.
Be the trendsetter, not the follower, right?

    I agree with this.
At some (or multiple) points in a kendama player's journey, they WILL approach plateaus.
It gets crazier once you realize that they are only a limited number of elements, and a theoretical infinite amount of possibilities.
One is bound to track back to the familiar.

..Yet you still see Bonz winning more freestyle titles than Mitchell.
    How is that so?

This is largely true for a very small set of players.
Most, if not all sponsored players are brought on to a team, simply because they have the "package" - an affable personality, mixed with a impressive skillset (and i am talking about quality, not quantity).
Best case in point - Kozorof. Matt never brought her on DWI because she did 20 taps.

You might think so, but Bryson is one of the hardest working players i have had a chance to meet.
He keeps pushing himself, and honing his craft, and he can be salty at times, and deservedly so.
But that's just what he is.

Broooo Bryson is pro . You’re stupid he even has a pro mod from sweets like how dumb are you. You and Keegan are both dumb. A pro boxer can’t be a pro boxer without having skills. Being pro should be based off pro. You’re dumb bro think off all the sports in the world. And you’re saying being pro shouldn’t be based off skill???? Are you stupid. How you gonna score a goal in the World Cup if you ain’t good? How you gonna Get a touch down without Precision? You need to be skilled in order to go pro why else would they want you on the team.

Woah, woah, let's pipe down with the name calling here.
Bryson is not a pro on Sweets, and he has a kendama done in his honor of winning KWC.
It is not, in any way, a pro model.

Here are the relevant sources, right off of the Sweets site.

No need to do the same ones even if they are your favs there’s still many tricks out there to master yet half these pros are doing the same tricks the been doing. But bonz is a pro for a reason but you never seen him do borders because apparently he sucks at them. But Alex is too honed on borders. Work on all tricks not just a set of tricks. It’s not hard like I said from before leveling up is not hard whether it takes a day to a week. As a pro your mind should be filled with creativity and use what you learn to obtain higher levels it’s simple as that.

Yeah man, chill out, stop calling people stupid when they're the ones who are right. And kendama isn't football or boxing, in these sports, it's all about skill. You'll hardly find a pro kendama player who sucks to hang out with, but with football and boxing, a lot of pros are not good people. Like lets take Luis Suarez or diego Costa. They're both excellent football players, but they've both bitten people on the pitch. I'd say kendama has created... for the most part... a really good environment, because companies, as many have said don't just hire for skill. At least for me, I'd rather have pros be cool to hang out with than insane at dama.

So you're saying that what bryson says on his IG is more reliable than what his actual sponsor says? And, he doesn't have a pro mod. Wyatt also had a champ mod before going pro.

I see your point, and as mentioned earlier, a mere handful of sponsored players do this.
This still doesn't invalidate their legitimacy as pros.
They can still dish out a good serving and variety of tricks in a ken game, or in stuff you hardly see them do in edits.

Yet, Level 11-9 of this year's Kendama World Cup sees Bonz doing a leanhouse-boarder-leanhouse, and in the Krom Pro edit, he has done boarder's at least once.
Indeed, Alex is honed on boarders, yet have you seen him capable of dishing out the same array of tricks as Bonz?
I have no intention of discrediting Alex, he is one of the most talented players out there, but his trick vocab is just entirely different from Bonz's.

    Look at it this way.
There are reasons why Alex chooses to focus on boarders and solar flares, instead of hippie flips and JKA style hanging tricks.
He does what he is comfy with, and so does Bonz.
And yet they try to incorporate new things every once in a while.
It doesn't make them any less of a player.

Let's see if we can keep this discussion from becoming its own "Worst trends in kendama." As a reminder, there's no need for personal attacks. Feel free to go after the content of the post but not the poster.

Perhaps a separate thread debating the merits and requirements of becoming a pro is in order.

@azleonhart 's news post? That was "mostly" spoof I think. If you're referencing another thread could you give a link?
