Bryson is on the homegrown team, not a pro. Matt Sweets, Christian Fraser, Max Norcross, Cooper Eddy, William Penniman, Zack and Nick Gallagher are the only Sweets pros. Bryson Lee is not.

Oh my] In general, there will ALWAYS be some kid out there grinding and 'levelling up' beyond what a pro player can do. That isn't a bad thing, in fact its how the game progresses. If that kid sticks with it and continues to make a name for themselves, one day they may end up a sponsored player as well. But it isn't like "Oh you can land a better trick that Joe on our team? Welcome to the team! Cya later Joe!" In addition, playing with someone in person tells a much better story of their skill than some instagram videos do. Personality matters too! And thats almost impossible to figure out just watching a highly curated instagram feed.
Also, I just want to say: calling out Bonz for being bad at Boarder's balance is LOLOLOLOLOLOL There are so many other pros you could call out as being bad at a trick. Bonz is probably never a good choice (for any trick)!
Oh but if it did indeed work that way...twice a year all pros/sponsored players must defend their sponsor position in a game of KEN. Just like taking on the Elite Four after beating all the gym leaders ROFL
i actually had that kinda system in mind, some years ago? Like, Elite Five, and anyone who wants to rise to the top has gotta go thru "shokugeki" style dogfights. Tests in three areas : KWC trick lottery game-of-ken, freestyle and moshikame endurance. (bonus points if you understood the "shokugeki" reference)
