For sure, moshikame is a must. I'm curious, does anyone have more info on the relationship between moshikame the trick and the Japanese children's song "Usagi no Kame?" Like I understand that the first line in the song says "moshi kame moshi kame" and that the song can be sung to the beat of moshikame, but is there anything more to this? Did it just happen? If anyone knows, do tell!
I will, promise! Right now one of the guys at the office has one kicking around so I've been fucking with that. Need my own though. I'm thinking maybe that Colin Sander pro?
I'm getting much more consistent at these. I think my record now is about 6 in a row. Its a pretty cool feeling when you get in the flow.
If you master the big cup moshi I would try the small cup...it feels really weird once you have been doing the normal big cup one for a while
Small cup is still not consistent. I'm getting rallies of 12+ Moshikame pretty consistently but it's all big cup. I think that i just need loads more practice. Only been a couple of months since I actually started playing. How long have you been playing?
Yes the Japanese song about the Tortoise and the Hare is kind of the timing song for the trick Moshikame. As I recall the JKA uses 135bpm as the speed required for the trick and the song helps. Here's an example of the trick and the song together.
To add to this, moshikame didn't have a name until this folk song came about. The first line is : "Moshi moshi kame yo, kame san yo" Which literally translates to : "Hello, hello tortoise, mr tortoise!" As goen puts it, the song maintains the tempo needed (135bpm) for the trick.
From a google search, "what songs are 135bpm?" Because not all of us can sing in Japanese… https://jog.fm/workout-songs/at/135/bpm?sort=popularity https://jog.fm/workout-songs/at/135/bpm?genre_id=hip-hoprap&order=desc&sort=date_added
It's Padauk. I thought the same thing. I would have gotten that pro mod rather than the beech. I had to watch that video a few times just because I was too busy looking at the ken rather than seeing what he had to say. @Jake Wiens you should release this pro-promod at some point!!
On the Dan levels, when you are doing the moshikame counts, does each hit count as one or does going from big cup to base count as one "moshikame?"
That is what I thought too but for some reason I am now not 100% sure. I am honing in on the basics, going through Dan levels and I just want to be sure.
