Kururin. The toy that has taken this community by storm. So simple yet so complex. I was just wondering if there is any store or company that will or already sells a regular or affordable Kururin that will be stocked normally and not small-batch. If not, when will the next drops be? What companies will jump into the world of Kururin?
I have only just heard about this toy and I looked around but didn't find too much information about them. I suppose if they are popular enough a company will put out a continuous line of them but then again there has to be a demand. Even amongst other dama enthusiasts the buzz around them has been fairly mild. Hopefully it will hit a small wave and then if that one works out you will have easier access to them.
I heard that they didn't want to sell to the US originally. I don't know if that's changed or if people here just have the hook up from Japan homies. Go on the "Official Kururin Community" group on Facebook, there's cool videos and links to buy some That being said, they are actually kind of fun. First time I played with one was back in August, and I didn't think much of it. Second time I played one was about a month ago, and I was hitting tricks left and right. It definitely got more fun when I was actually doing tricks versus struggling like I did the first time haha
So stoked on this new toy! The Kururin Facebook Community is a good place to find who is selling them and what tricks people are doing. Such a fun thing to mess with when you are sitting down not playing kendama
I have 2 coming (one from Terra and one from UpTownJoe)! Super stoked. Have yet to actually PLAY with one. I'm also doing some experiments myself as well...will update when something happens!
tbh, at first i was a total naysayer about it. lol and then i got one from Damon and completely turned 180 about it. It's fun and something i can fidget with during my conference calls at work. haha I got one from terra as well and i'm cant wait for it!
Its not too loud during conference calls? I haven't gotten mine yet, and I REALLY am hoping I can incognito play with it at work, but I'm afraid it is going to be too loud...
Normally i play with it when I'm not talking/when my mic is muted. it's definitely audible on my desk. i found if you play on a mouse pad, it's very effective muffling the sound, but the trade-off would be the limited area you have.
I have one in the mail as well from uptownjoe Honestly, it looks really easy from videos. But judging by the basic tricks people are posting (and stoked about) I'm guessing it's really hard. We'll see as soon as it shows up!
Kururins are REALLY, REALLY fun. My friend makes them and he has a company that he started called Hand-Turned Kendamas. Not only does he make kendamas but he also makes some sick kururins. I definitely recommend you go check him out. His website will be coming out very soon! His insta: @georgebruno20 His company's insta: @handturnedkendamas
NY reppin' huh!? I have one in the mail from uptownjoe as well. Very excited to have another fidget toy.
@htimSxelA made a bunch and had them up on the Terra website. I'm sure he'll make more in the future ap keep your eyes peeled for those, I thought they were kinda dumb at first but after a hour of play with Alex I decided I for sure needed one
@Ben Lowe I dunno if its more of a 'koo-roo-rin' or 'kuh-ru-rin'? Kinda a weird name, but still better than 'begleri'. That one sounds awful lol (disclosure: I think begleri is really fun, it just has a weird name)
As far as I know, someone in Japan started making them, @comcell1993 is their Instagram. All of these pop up shops making them in the US aren't working with the original creator because some said they couldn't get a hold of him. Also check "Official Kururin Community" on Facebook for other info I may be forgetting
