With the February challenge coming up, I thought I would see what kind of tricks or simple combos might be good for the beginner who wants to participate. I did it last year and that was the start of my Kendama journey really. I did basically all the starter stuff and it was a challenge but helped me grow. Now to think of new but achievable things to maybe try it this year as a push to grow some more. So post some stuff you think new comers and those early in their journey would have fun with this month.
Don't know if these are easier (or harder) than you want but: Faster than Gravity Statue of Liberty Handcuff Clack (tap back - any) Penguin spike Clutch Flying top Slip stick Around the Prefecture (or "around" of your choice)
Thanks. I will have to look some of these up. Some I know already, but everything helps. Hopefully we can get some more posts with some tricks even intermediate ones.
Look up Kendama USA Beginner Tutorials on YouTube and you can find a playlist with some tricks they’ve made tutorial vids for. Same with Intermediate if you want to challenge yourself.
There’s an app? Cool will check it out. @KeeganS i have definitely been checking tutorials and stuff too. Hopefully I can learn enough this year. Thanks
Earth Turn and Double Earth Turn are cool beginner tricks. Same with J Stick and Double J stick. Big Cup Arm Bounce Light House Falling In Build the House Pull Up Ken Flip Slip on Spike in a must for Beginners Side Spike Down Spike later in the month Around the World Around the Block Candlestick Orbit
What’s “Build the House”? Tried looking it up but can’t find it. Some of these I am still working like doubles, but some I know. I’m thinking I’m in between beginner and intermediate as most beginner posts are checked on my list from last year or just over the last little while. I played 28 tricks later last year which was basically my start to Kendama learning others than spike and cups. Since then I’ve been struggling with an Achilles injury so didn’t get to really put in work. It’s not 100% so hoping it will keep up with the grind this year and I can level up and really get to continue from my progress after I like last year and have to do a bit of backtracking and refreshing of skills.
