Understood, the end of the year can be a bit busier than usual. Let me know if I can help. We always say there's "10K+" tricks so it's going to be pretty cool, and monstrous, if an actual list of them could be created.

So looked around and didn’t see what I was looking for. Hopefully I’m not repeating a thread. Anyways, so I wasn’t wondering a bit about trick names. It seems sometimes when I search tricks different sources are using the same name for different tricks (sometimes similar sometimes not). Any thoughts on who best to follow for what a trick actually is?

Example: Last year I was looking up new tricks for 28 tricks later and came across “trapeze” on yo tricks. Then this year I started back up on my journey (started Kendama with last years February challenge then couldn’t play again for a year almost due to injury) and when sourcing some trick lists like kwc to learn from etc, they had a completely different trick called “trapeze”. So I looked up the trick on YouTube and Sweets has it different as well. Then saw a post for some ojo list that has what I originally thought was “trapeze” from to tricks listed as “Flying V”.

So I’m confused to say the least lol. I don’t want to look like an idiot posting things and not knowing what they actually are and since I am trying to teach others in my area and get some friends to jam with and a community going, I don’t want to be giving wrong info either. Any help would be great. Thanks

@Kristina We had a similar thread so yours has been merged.

I usually start with JKA names some of which were translated by the BKA (British Kendama Association) and 100 tricks here. Then usually Sweets & KUSA tutorial videos and then common use which can vary depending on region. I've seen Candle called Disco Ball.

When in doubt I just make things up and swear to anyone who challenges me that it's the "real" name. :D

One heads-up the tutorials on Learn Kendama aren't bad for learning tricks but their naming convention is sometimes. . . interesting. (They're yoyoers so there's that. )

Glad to hear it and looking forward to what you make of it. Oh and a heads-up, the left hand palm out thing will save you from smacking yourself. :D

One of our guys used it for the "Bruce Lee".

Yep, there is that. It's a variation from the old days when I tinkered with nunchaku; lot's of unintended body smacks back then.
