@htimSxelA you are the man! I just got ahold of my first handturned (by you!) Terra Skateply. Wow man, the rumors are all true. It's a tank, it's the best, it feels unreal, it redefines quality in kendama! My God it is beautiful! So I'm in the process of getting my lathe setup to start turning my own damas, and I just want you to know that you're my inspiration and I look up to you as the best in the game. Bravo Alex! You've definitely made a difference in my life. Thank You!
you gotta get a piece of wood that is about 3x the tama and then make a jig out of it https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...F1047B4C41C6B7DD643CF1047B4C41C6B7D&FORM=VIRE this huy has a good way of explaining how they make the tama perfectly round
If you guys haven't ventured into The Lumber Yard go have a look. Lot's of interesting threads in there about DIY and other wood related info. Hand Turned Damas Kendama Making Videos & The Story Of . . . Difference Between Hardwoods & Softwoods
You guys are ALL my hero’s. Following your passions. Doing what makes you happy. Praising others for their accomplishments and helping/teaching each other the ways instead of making them TradeSecrets.. it’s why this community has been the best thing in my life the past year and I know it’s why Kendama is going to grow into so much more and bigger than it ever has been in the past!
Glad you're loving the skateply so far! When we say it is the jam... we mean it! haha Good luck with the lathework, it can be frustrating sometimes but its amazing to play a kendama you made yourself. I hope you'll end up with something awesome! Post up pics once you've finished a dama up
Hey Alex I just wanted to say I really love my terra natura, it's pretty much one of the only damas I have where I can also track which cup is which and that helps with tre flips and what not, I wish I could review it on terrakendama.com but I really like it and I agree the prefect shape is ahead of its class. Thank you!
We haven't integrated any review system into the shop, because in my direct experience, usually those sorts of review systems are just gamed by the business posting them and aren't that reliable anyways. Maybe thats not the best choice, but I like to operate from a position of good principles instead of just taking the 'easy profit' sorta path. Its the same reason we don't have any facebook tracking pixels or any crap like that on the Terra site: respect for the customer's privacy and autonomy. Too much of the internet is just geared towards subtly selling you crap. So for Terra, we'd rather depend on our actual customers saying nice things about our products in a more organic way (like your post, thanks! Super glad to hear you like it!). As a small business, that sort of thing really does keep us afloat
