Josh is one of the only sponsored players that I known of who plays less than like 6. The only other I can think of is Logan tosta who rocks 4 or 5.
So the dwesty mod string length is 57 cm and he cuts a little off of that for me that’s close to 9-10 fingers.
Why did you double it?! Lol I’m saying he cuts a few from the string up 57cm and I think it’s 57cm strung up when you get it out of the box
If it's strung and you're measuring the loop that's double the length. Did I misunderstand? I think the current Ozora replacement strings are 57cm unstrung.
I’ve never see a string from ozora that long besides the one they cut for me in japan. That came in a replacement pack?? That looks like a yard of string ha it’s way shorter then what’s in your photo
No, sorry. I was just using that pic to illustrate the "strung" length I was talking about and why it would be double the string length. That one actually looks like it's nearly 60cm+ (strung length) If you estimate with a 17-18cm tall kendama. The guy must be 2M tall or play off their balcony.
So that one is at 114cm? Sorry if I’m making this confusing ha but I feel like 60 cm is what the dwesty is sitting at unstrung with no knots or anything
No worries. I'm half asleep and typing blind anyway. I'm guestimating that string (in the pic above) based off the standard height of the kendama. Looks like there's about 4 kendama worth of looped string putting it at probably 120cm+ unstrung. I don't even remember where I found that pic but it boggles my mind. You ever seen someone play something that long?
It is unbelievable lol Stodd was one of the first players to really go hard on juggles and taps. I can imagine super long string not being a thing a few years ago, so Stodd had to do all his tricks with standard string. It's a testament to his skill and control with juggling.
Resurrecting because I've been geeking heavily on string length since fringecase and then doing a deep dive on the string lengths of a ton of players who are doing tricks that are exciting to me. Based on some pretty focused monitoring and trials over the last couple months, I'm seeing players like Ben Herald running anything between 1/2 - 8 fingers depending on the trick. In comps, it seems like the longest string you can run and still do a spacewalk is still dominating.
Adrian Esteban's strings seem crazy long. They seem almost yoyo length; I'd wager that they're at the 12-13 finger length.
