They wouldn't put a price tag on it that wasn't suitable considering labor and materials. It's a piece of art and should considered a such. Id def. Snag one if I had the fundage. I actually like the skateply lbb a little bit more anyways.
I don't understand why people are complaining so much about he price? Two companies that normally put together $80+ kendamas and they collab on one and you expect them to lose money? Wouldn't be a wise business move for them to split the price and make less then they normally would on a ken
It is true they were expensive, TerraPly is a very expensive material to produce though! Our ultimate goal is to make TerraPly kendamas that are as affordable as possible, but even in the best case they will still cost more than most other higher-end, N American-made kendamas. We decided on the price according to our costs, and in the end it worked out well (they sold out). We're stoked to hear what players think of them after some jamming!
Update on this beautiful dama; it plays as good as it looks. I have a couple spectraplys already (homegrown mint berry crunch & Flux A1) and they feel softer compared to it. Spike tricks feel as sturdy as a hardwood. I'll keep slaying his drama and let you guys know. But after a couple days of playing all day, it's still hasn't shown signs of being played. (Except the ash tama which is starting to get honed.) Also it smells amazing.
Your apartment smells of rich mahogany. How is the weight on it? I've played mahogany Congas, and they seem to be lighter than than some other woods I've tried.
@Congarranza I don't have a scale anymore; but I'd say high 70's low 80's maybe. It's a really nice weight with the maple veneers. It's definitely in the middle of weights for all the damas I own.
So.... through a series of fortunate events.... this badboy is on it's way to me <3 Thanks so much @TerraKendama
I have two questions here. First off, where is the line to get one of these? Secondly, does anyone have a tent I can borrow?
