That’s cool I never relized I’ll look into that about the exchange(thanks for the heads up). No I didn’t try that but mine sits fine and is super strong. I might try one just to see what your talking about. But yeah the ones I make work great and hold it tight and are not bulky on the ball(and the inner cord is 2-3mm dosent take much away. And after removing the inner rope it’s still the same size just flat) and taking out the middle makes it weaker(and becomes unwound near the ends and rip the rope easier) as well as takes always from the frimness on the grip which I think would result in more sway.) but I’ll try one and let you know. it seems like a good consept to take it out and lay it flatter. I’ll let u know. I noises it holds it better than some of the other company holders out there((theirs are hard to use and sway a bunch.and I’m not a fan of putting it though a metal stopper like some of the leather ones out there (wear and tear on the hole)). My design 1-2 have Very little to no sway . I’ll post a video on my YouTube Chanel to show how to use them, the strength, and how good they hold. All post a link here when I do. Ps thanks for the tips goenkKendama and keep helping others on this form The kendama community is strong. All best a. Dama on
@Lucas Canadian Kendama Here's one I did a while back but it's stitched not braided or knotted I left the core in because of that. On others I pull the core to flatten it against the tama in particular so it doesn't roll off as easy. When it's only 1 strand of cord it's more of a concern than flat braids. Also the black at the top has a metal grommet with a single knotted loop to act as a piviot; it doesn't bind as it's flipping around. Also you mention Begleri, you might poke your head in over here for more on the topic.
@goenKendama nice. And see why unlike it flat for your design. And the top clip on mine has room to move but keep it firm. And for my single strand the knot holds it super tight and never binds just sways a bit but my stronger designs has little to no sway at all. I’ll post a video on YouTube and link it on here. But yeah nice job on yours and seem cool with the metal bead.
i don’t have a holster myself as i prefer to sling it around my neck. But the DWI ones look super solid
I personally don’t like the learher it looks kinda funnny(bdsm stuff lol) and the hole I fear will open and not hold over time. And the DWI holder is 35$ That’s pretty expensive for just 1 holder(I would sell mine for less than half that). And all the holders are sturdy just depends if it swaying on your hip is a big deal. I like mine steady and not to move much. But yeah putting the kendama around you neck works too Just always good to have a holder for a walk or holing it tight and they look cool. . But anyway I’ll post a video on my on my YouTube Chanel so make sure to check it out. I’ll put the link on this page for any one who wants to see how they work, and how well it holds. But yeah all the best and dama on.
@Lucas Canadian Kendama if these are for sale maybe you could create a thread over in DS Exchange to let people know about the styles and prices. That's where you've got the best chance of promoting your items to people looking to B/S/T.
The dama day bag by sweets is pretty awesome if you’re looking to have multiple damas on you and also hold your wallet/keys and extra strings.
I personally don’t like the panny packs(not chirping just never liked fanny packs in general) but good point the extra pockets for keys and strings is cool. Cool bag just not for me. But all holders are good just depends on what your looking for. That’s why I designed my holders they are strong and look awesome. And for my holder you can attach your keys onto the clip to hold them. Check my holders out I will be posting in the DS exchange soon. And I just came out with a new product Check my Instagram for more @canadama.kendama All the best and dama on.
Does anyone know how to attach a knt holder to a strap of a back pack? Id love to know before buying one
@Radson you should just be able to use a clip to clip it on. And my holders can clip anywhere and u can clip your keys through the ring also. If you ever get stuck you can unwind it and it’s roughly 20 feet to 10 feet of rope For survival. But anyway hope I helped. All the best. And dama on
Just picked one up from Rose at TKO2019 today. Made from Grey recycled Walmart bags. Works well and fits all size kendamas.. and comes from recycled material so earth friendly
Not a holster but a pretty cool hard case. Preformed and while you can put a JKA or similar kendama in it larger kendama seem to be a bit better fit. Also tried it with a Prefect which worked pretty well.
Just putting the finishing touches on a new one. . . the KenToggle. UPDATE: Here's the shorty version for tama-up carry.
Yep it's kendama form-fit but I'm still trying to figure out exactly which kendama was used as a template. Sol Flow fits pretty well, Prefect is snug but can be closed. A 17cm "standard" fits poorly around the slip grip/ring stall but I'm currently using the case for a standard size aluminum just because it's great for transportation and it's a lot smaller than the custom case I made seen in video below. It comes in 4 colors grey, black, blue, & red.
is there any way to get a tutorial on this? I'd love to support jake but he still doesn't ship internationally
