The rate at which a person can mature is directly proportional to the embarrassment he can tolerate. Douglas Engelbart
Never be sorry for being good at something. -A friend Mild story behind this one: So I pick some things up really quickly (compared to others) and I always feel bad that I can do something that others can't in a certain time span. Sometimes it's just pure luck. Sometimes it's ability. Either way, I usually feel bad that I can do something that others are struggling with. Someone told me after 1 day of kendama and being able to do a handful of tricks right off the bat, to stop apologizing for being able to do these things. If it wasn't for this person saying this to me after 1 day, I probably would've put kendama on the back burner for a bit. Now, I'm diving in and it feels good. Long story short: You don't have to boast, but at the same time don't be ashamed of being better than others.
