Thanks man! I feel like STB is like solving a Rubik’s cube : once you solve it, the only way forward is to solve it faster! Hope to shave enough to make it to the 30s club.
I think its harder because you're thinking "alright I have to insta this bird" I found that when I tell myself I'm just doing a regular bird and then I quickspike afterwards, its easier than telling myself "ok insta this bird to save time"
good way to break in ur damas since there's so many variaties of tricks i managed to get a 31sec run but it wasn't on tape i'll get one on tape soon i guess
I received a reply about Timed Kyogi B (Speed Trick B) and other questions from a JKA judge. Here is an excerpt from his reply: Who invented that challenge? I cannot find who invented Speed tricks. But it was used NKK (Nihon Kendama Kyokai; it is the old abbreviation of JKA) cup competition in 1978. I guess it was invented by steering committee of NKK. What is the quickest speed recorded? There were National competition of speed tricks, but they were held only for several times and not held continuously. After that there are several records of speed trick B, but they are not treated as individual record. Because it is used as the final trick to settle the competition. In other words, it is important which player is faster rather than its record. Are there other speed tricks? Yes, there are several speed tricks as below. Speed trick A: 1) Big cup, 2) Small cup, 3) Base cup, 4) Candle, 5) Spike, 6) Swing in, 7) Slip on Stick, 8) Around Japan, 9) Around the World, 10) Airplane Speed trick C: 1) Around village, 2) Around town, 3) Around city, 4) Around prefecture, 5) Around region, 6) Around Japan, 7) Around Asia, 8) Around Europe, 9) Around the world, 10) Around the cosmos Standard time: Speed trick A: 60 sec Speed trick B: 120 sec Speed trick C: 90 sec Standard times are used to calculate player’s point. Point = Standard time – Player’s time If you finish 10 tricks of Speed trick C after 73 sec, your point is 90-73=17 point. Please see tricks for Speed trick C as below. Around village: Big cup - spike Around town: On stick - spike Around city: Small cup - spike Around prefecture: Base cup - spike Around region: Big cup – spike – base cup – spike, or Base cup – spike – big cup - spike Around Japan: same as Speed trick B Around Asia: Small cup – spike – big cup – spike, or Big cup – spike – small cup - spike Around Europe: same as Speed trick B Around the world: same as Speed trick B Around the cosmos: same as dan- examination There are Speed trick X, Y, Z, M, N as well, and maybe more.
Thought I'd post the harder variation of STB that Void and I came up with a year ago. Named "Speed Trick Bastard" (vid underneath) http://juggling.tv/16050
I don't know if I phrased my question correctly. I think what I was trying to say was that do the successful attempts need to be consecutive. For example if you land one, then miss one and landed the next, would that count. Or would you need two successful attempts together in order to progress to the next trick.
You phrased the question correctly indeed. In regards to your statement, the latter is true. Think of the Around Japan as a set. It must be done twice, consecutively to count. If you miss the final spike at the second Around Japan, you need to restart the set. The above is also true for the Around the World.
Coool thanks for the clarification, I did think that it would be that way to be honest. I'll keep grinding
Been working on this again but, yeah, I'll never see this kind of clock. (should start at the actual timed run)
