Here's the link for the Kururins from Concel Inc: http://www.comcell.co.jp/ Although when looking on the side of the Kururin there is a line of text that reads something like www.muku-studio.com I've have sent emails to both Comcell.co.jp and Muku, but no reply. I sent Muku an email over a month ago and Comcell I sent an email to them about two weeks ago.
Update. It's very hard! But definitely fun and addicting. I ordered a card mat off Amazon to play on instead of adding pads to mine
A Japanese person, comcell is the company producing them in Japan. It is possible to get in touch with them, but it is hard, I had to do it by contacting Japanese friends that put me in touch, not through any of the company's contact forms. I'm not sure if any of the other people who made some have been in touch with them, but I do know I'm not the only one that has contacted them in general
I have yet to get one! The first time I tried one was briefly at MKO in the hotel lobby. So much fun! Props to @Alex Hirota for bringing his and for really giving Kururin an initial push in the kendama community! Can't wait to get my hands on one sometime soon.
I haven't messed with pads much yet, they seem to be a preference of many players though. Hope you dig it!
Definitely dig it! Tons of fun, the oak looks awesome too, just can't see it with the lighting in my video. My brother was able to cut out some little silicone circles to try as pads, but we're still figuring out how to adhere them to the wood.
Hmm gluing silicone to wood... honestly gorilla glue is usually not a bad 'fix all' solution, maybe try a test piece on any sort of scrap wood you might have (a 2x4 or something), make sure it works. Or, maybe some double sided tape? I wonder if skateboard grip tape would work well? I guess it might damage the surface you're playing on. Either way, it seems like a hard, flat surface is best. Any 'softness' to the surface seems to just absorb rolling energy.
I work at a golf store and the double sided tape we use for gripping clubs might be a good choice like @htimSxelA mentioned above. I know that in the past golf companies such as Ping and Callaway used double sided tape to hold graphic/weight emblems in the cavity of the iron.
Does that Japanese website comcell sell them? I saw them on the website but couldn't find a way to buy them
You have to DM comcell on Instagram, that is how my friend bought us some. Dm-ing them can be a hit or a miss though because some people have mentioned that they haven't been able to get a response for weeks but my friend was able to get one within a day. Doesn't hurt to try though
They sent me a reply in regards to my initial interest in buying a Kururin from the. They asked if I was in the United States and said if I was to check out Kendama USA's site.
You should 100% support the original creators (comcell) and buy those if you can. However, I've got some unofficial kururin that work really well that we will probably make available in the future. Most likely.
Haha we're working on all that. I don't want to promise anything yet, though. You can follow @lobros_ on IG if you want to know the exact details and when.
It's definitely probably not for everyone. It's a different kind of fun too. I personally won't mess with a kururin for a very long stretch, but I'll jump on the dama and time seems to escape me.
