So, i'm a intermediate kendama player but i can't do bird's and that is realy frustrating for me. Any tips here?
Here’s a tip that really help me on balancing the tama on the big cup, try pinching the string with your opposite hand and hang the tama a few inches away from the Ken, then drop the tama and try to catch it on bird. Do this a few times repeatedly and add some knees and you’ll get use to holding a bird in no time. Then of course when you got that down, you have to do a real bird
What helped me was putting the tama in bird stance then taking off the tama and holding the Ken in that position then try a bird. Licking bevel helps the tama stick as well
Have a look here and make some "Kendama Bumpers" for practicing stalls. https://www.downspike.com/threads/kendama-bumpers%E2%84%A2-other-tweaks.1372/
