Ohh mann, looking for songs is difficult!
Do you know how your edit's gonna be like?
Does it just involve you lacing the trick, then cutting to another?
Or maybe there's a story and a sorta mood to it?

Dude making an edit is like making a music video. you should have the music in mind so you can pull out something from the song that will make it look good. But if the song/s is undecided yet, try looking at your playlist & try each song(either a portion of it or the whole thing.). If the songs on your playlist won't do, start looking for songs that you like based on genre rather than the actual artist

Swagytracks has the uncopyrighted music! And you're helping spread the word about independent artists, win win!

Yep. The music is the soul of the edit.
What you choose determines a lot of things about who you are as a dama player.

This may seem as overthinking things, but it's that important.

I'm pretty hooked on logic right now, I'm thinking of using "all I do" as my edit song, as it has a lot of opportunities for transitions throughout.

One main thing I do when editing any video is add up how much on-camera time I have in total before I try and pick a song. If I picked a song that was too short I couldn't fit in all my tricks but if you pick one too long you end up having to use a lot of B-roll, which isn't terrible if you have the footy but always a good thing to keep in mind.

What I would do is just listen to a lot of music from a lot of different (and kind of random) sources (SoundCloud, Spotify, Television, etc.). If you hear a song that you like but don't know is called, Shazam it.

17 by Abstract is sick, and has a heartfelt story behind it. Plus, the producer plays kendama!
Another one of his good songs is Freedom, which is more of a rap.
Also check out his co-lab kendama with KUSA!
