I've been watching alot of old kusa edits and they do cup flow and then randomly they'll throw it up and like flip the ken or spin it or something all in Sara grip. I was wondering if anyone has any tricks or any good tutorials they know of. Thanks
Hmm I'm not sure if there are any sara grip specific tutorials out there, the same sort of principles as ken grip kenflips would apply though. I think a good training trick for these sort of tricks is: Big cup -> ken flip to big cup-> little cup-> kenflip to little cup-> bottom cup -> ken flip to bottom cup -> Spike. Or Big cup -> ken flip to little cup -> ken flip to bottom cup -> kenflip to spike Or just Sara grip whirlwinds
If you need help with those Sara grip flips, just try it! All you gotta do is rotate the ken with your finger or thumb and then catch it back on the cup. Practice with the amount of force you use to rotate it. You can loft it for a slow single or chuck it for a trip. It's not one of those tricks that's super hard (in my opinion), just takes some getting used to
One of my personal sara grip flips has got to be the tré flip! I think it's a Yourd favorite as well. Using the middle and ring fingers already resting on the small cup, use that to flip the ken in tré.
I like doing Sara grip big cup tre flips by putting two fingers at 2 o'clock on the little cup and throwing my whole dama in the air about 6"
Tré flippers are rad, but it's also a pet peeve of mine when people do them a particular way in a game of DAMA, and then get all uppity about the other players doing it exactly their way. Kinda in the same realm as lighthouse pirouette type tricks. Otherwise, another good sara grip trick is a boosey flip. It's sorta like a slinger around your thumb. It's not super well defined just for the fact that the line between a kenflip and a boosey flip is kinda fuzzy. But they're super fun to do nonetheless!
