Yes just go to your Contact Details and uncheck "Receive email when a new conversation message is received" under "Messaging Preferences".
There seems to be a bug with this... I just unchecked this box cause my email was getting spammed hard, but it seems like all of the threads I had already replied to in the past still have email notifications turned on! (more emails just came in, I then checked the contact details page again, and that option is still unchecked). I'll be turning them off one at a time as they come in (there is an option for this at the bottom of the email message), but changing the option in the Contact Details page to include ALL threads would be cool!
ahh that's because of the "and receive email notifications of replies" option under Preferences. Just uncheck that box and you should stop getting those emails!
@amor thats the option I already turned off, but it doesn't turn it off for posts already subscribed to, just for posts you respond/subscribe to from that point onwards. So I'm stuck clicking through the 'disable emails from this thread' button at the bottom of the email, for every thread I responded to prior to unchecking that box
You're right, sorry I didn't understand what you meant. Yes unfortunately there's no way at the moment to mass unsub with one button. You can only view all your "Watched Threads" under Forums > Watched Threads.
How can a company purchase a spot for one of the home page ads? We should have dama ads on the pages instead of furniture ads.
Also I feel like under "DOWNSPIKE" logo it should have a tag line... at least for awhile while it's getting established. like... DOWNSPIKE A Kendama Network Or something. Just to make it super clear that it's a dama forum.
Yo, for real! Not stoked on those at all, instantly makes the website look cluttered and cheesy. Booooo I can understand why you would plug into the larger targeted ads network out there, but I'd love it WAY more if the ads were from kendama companies.
100% agree. I haven't had the time to do hand-to-hand ad sales just yet, but I vow to create this ability by next week. Would much prefer to see Krom / Sweets / KUSA / etc product ads on here. Would look way cleaner and keep it core. Down the road, I would like to see companies use all the capabilities of the site for more creative advertising opportunities too, like video contests, exclusives, AMAs, and some other features we haven't rolled out yet. Keep it super targeted while allowing some creativity. Stay tuned.
I've always wanted basically a pinkbike.com for kendama. Do you guys think aspects of pinkbike.com would work here? For example, the homepage having event coverage, product reviews, video posts, and other exclusive user submitted content.
that's the idea! we don't have a paid staff here, it's totally up to the community to show / write / post what they want to see. Occasionally DS will do an original feature. but the bulk should come from the community. For now, any news or product reviews can be done in the description of a short video upload to be featured. That allows for you to post photos, format text for articles and descriptions, and add links. For this first phase they will have to be accompanied by a YouTube link.
Awesome! There seems to be a lot of talented people in the Kendama community so the potential quality of the user submitted content should be high (with some filtering). I think it could use some volunteer based structure. For example, a lot of people are constantly filming and taking pictures at events like MKO. To have a "New Products at MKO" post of just pictures of what everyone had would be awesome and pretty easy. I think kids would get stoked if they were "tasked" by the DS community with the mission of putting something like that together. Maybe I'll start it off: Would anyone be interested in a RWB shop tour post?
Noticed this when posting a couple of times. When we tag someone in a comment / thread, does it give them a notification that we've tagged them? I checked my notifications and didn't see anything when people have tagged me in a chat / forum / video / etc. Almost act alike the Facebook notifications. Thoughts?
I was wondering about this too! It's way easier to tag people than quote them all the time. It'd be sweet if it notified them
