Hello friends. So I'm from Romania, Giurgiu and I'm doing a kendama contest in my town beacuse we have so many kd players and no contests at all.But the only problem is I can't give any prizes beacuse I'm 13 and i can't afford that many kd's. So how can i get a sponorship for my contest?
First of all, organize your event. Get a facebook event page, flyers, and if possible, a website. Show that you have serious interest (and that it won't just be like 10 people). If it's a big enough event, you should be able to contact the kendama companies through their website "contact us" forms, and tell them about your event. Many companies are very generous if the event is well organized!
I would highly suggest partnering up with another person or people, maybe some other kendama players in your area who are a bit older or have some experience with events, or otherwise bring balance to what you bring to the table. Being your first event, you're going to have to put in some extra time, work, and hustle to make it happen. If you can spread the word and take early registration money you can just buy some kendamas for prizes. If your event is successful than you'll have much greater chances in securing sponsorships in the future. Like @Cheech_Sander said, some companies may be willing to donate to the event, but only if they see solid organization and a good potential showing. However, if you don't get major sponsors, that shouldn't stop you from doing something anyway! Kendama is fun and competing can be great even without prizes (or minimal prizes) too.
