I got a caveman and space candy kendama. Unsure of how rare, but I don't think the companies are around anymore. Loved space candy customer service! Got jolly ranchers in every order.
This ones pretty obscure I think... it was my first kendama. It was my wife's when she was a little girl. If anyone knows what it is that would be rad because I don't ... when I got it the tama was strung on backwards (with the bead and knot on the outside of the string hole) and I had no clue. My first trick was pull up down spike
Seems about right. Check this page on the GLOKEN site. Looks similar to the S-types from the 70s, but the gloken photos are potato quality so its tough to say for sure
Another oldy I thought i'd share. My brother found it amongst some antiques at a flea market in yamaguchi city...
woah guys these are so cool! O_O keep them coming!! I didn't think the JKA can get so strict with their branding protocols, they really have a lot of pride in their product.. @bonerkid KRAES Kendama is new to me, looks really cool tho and that part about numbering their batches, I believe Kenusa does that too with the kranjis. @azleonhart That cupstaked base cup is crazy, thats why Takeshi Kamisato is such a wizard haha and that yoyodama....I can't handle haha! @goenKendama I don't have the catchy metal, though I'd really to hear out some feedback on those @kendama duke That speldama is so cute, the colorways are radical, I like how KROM is always so liberal with their wacky personal designs. @sambarboo yes, you wont regret it, its one solid buy. @htimSxelA That custom totara wood kendama is sick, I like how there was a conscious decision to choose a lighter wood so kids can play it without hurting themselves too @Alice Ah! I've seen these playpro models, the logo is very memorable @Chelsea May Perez I agree with @Jenny Cho its so fuzzy and lovely, hard not to want to touch it haha! I've seen this at my local tokyo hands(popular Japanese good store) but it's sold at a sky high price. @Almostgets I've heard of them (i think) any chance of taking any photos? @RiverSideDama that's really cool, this kendama has probably alot of history imbued into it I have yet another 'obscure' kendama to share and its from my home country Singapore : StylesfromBeyond Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sfbkendama/ Website: https://sfbkendama.com/ (yes they ship worldwide) Their latest product offering is the 'rubber cup technology' which I've yet to try but it pretty much increases the chances of landing lunars and stall tricks, the scope designs look really great. I have one of their older fully rubber painted models which is inspired by the iwako eraser, Its meant for collection purposes, so can't post a review on it, but if anyone is more interested to know how their regular models play- they are wonderful, the signature wood burn at the bottom helps alot with lighthouses :>
Found this gem whilst taking a walk near my Airbnb this morning, in Tokyo: (Sadly, the owner was not putting this up for sale.)
Short string. I keep mine at the 2-3 finger length below the bottom cup when the tama is in the spikeā¦
THIS WOULD BE SUCH A COOL #DSGS. Who ever has the most obscure kendama and cool story about it wins something
