Once is acceptable but more than once?! Do you pull the it by the Ken with the tama following? Cause that'll burn you. Just grab it by the Ken and roll off the side the tama is on

Worked on filming string tricks for an afternoon and ended up with bad burns on my left finger from lots of swirls and pizzas

When I first learned Tornadoes, I would get blisters on my right pinky finger from the string constantly rubbing/pulling against my skin. But because I was so determined to get them, they would pop and skin would peel off. It hurt, but it was worth getting Tornadoes down, haha!

Same thing happened to my left forefinger when I was learning Sweets Special for the first time, as well as my left forefinger and left middle finger when I was learning Butterfly. Some people do Butterflies by pinching the string between their forefinger and thumb, but I learned a different way.

Haha, I guess I went too hard on my pinky! Or I just have fragile skin. Usually, if I feel my skin feeling tender and if I think a blister might form, I just put a bandaid on. I should've done it before. :p

When I first learned infinite gunslinger my index finger was in some pretty rough shape... Not string burn though. Someone should make a thread about Dama related injuries in general!

Yet to get a string related injury. Thank god.

Side note, how often do you replace your string?

The last trick in my KUSA round 2 pro contest video gave me some good string burns. Pizza spinner up to small cup lunar.

I've seen a few good dama injuries. Rod knocked himself out once! lol

I was working on flow on a kendama with silk string and after about half an hour of jamming felt some pretty bad blisters on my pointer finger.
