I'm always enamored and highly interested in how many hours people play per day. My son probably has averaged between 4-5 hours a day since starting 4 years ago. We talk about this a lot and think "he can't play 4 or 5 hours everyday", but then we think about MKO weekend for instance. He probably played for 12-14 hours for 3 straight days so it adds up. Also, just think about how often a kendama is in your hand, it's still consider "practicing" even if your not really playing. So, after all that, how many hours a day do you play?
Before starting my job I probably played 2-3 hours a day but now I maybe "play" about 30 minutes a day. When I am not doing anything too important I am always fiddling with my dama. Doing cup flow, earth turns, etc. Kids are progressing so fast now it's crazy! I mean I played dama for 10+ hours at a time this weekend but I did not sesh like Logan did. 2 hours on the film grind!! I am interested to hear how long other people in the 22+ age range spend playing kendama every day.
^^ Oh hey, that's me. haha anyways, I'm nowhere near playing at an advanced lvl but, i normally jam about 30min-2hrs during weeknights since i work those avg M-F 9-5 (or 6 in my case) jobs. i definitely play more on weekends on-and-off though especially when we have meetups here in Houston.
I play about an hour each day, but I that is mostly spend practicing tricks I'm already consistent in, to be almost perfect. Every now and then I'll practice adding extra flips to those tricks (etc. I just started making a point of ALWAYS doing a one-turn airplane instead of a normal one)
like Ryan said its harder for us older players to get a lot of practice time since we have jobs, but even so I'm usually able to get about an hour a day if I'm not in a slump. Also i think that if you have people to jam with your playing time will go wayyyyy up. i remember when i lived with a roommate and my house was the jam spot, I'd stay up til 2AM playing with buds.
I carry two with me everywhere i go. I dont have an exact time of how much i play, but as often as i can. Waiting in line at the store, on break at work, anytime im walking around, anytime im standing around. I probably get a couple hours collected throughout the day
Hmm probably an hour or two on average... there are spurts of time where I won't play much though. It really depends
Probably an hour or so but it's spread out across an entire day, which I don't think benefits me as much as it would if it were a straight hour at a time.
I would say that I probably average around 15 - 20 minutes a day. Of course on weekends there are the occasional hour or longer sessions. If I wasn't so busy with schoolwork I would be playing for hours every day!
I play probably 30 mins a day. I usually pick it up during homework breaks or when I just get home from work/school and there's still some daylight left. Tuesday's are a whole different story though, I jam dama for about 4-6 hours #kgtues
Around 1-2h daily during the week, and about 2-3h when Ive got the day off. I'm progressing quite satisfyingly at this rate
As a 21 year old college student, I jam maybe an hour a day. maybe. More on weekends but not as much as i'd like to.
I'm 25 with your regular 40hr work week, I come home throw on whatever anime/show I'm into at the moment and during opening and endings I jam. Sometimes I'll just keep playing. Usually between 30mins to 2 hours daily, weekends easily 2+ hours.
Typically, i collectively get a half hour of play a day. 3-5 times a week. At 27yo with 45-65 hour work week, with 2 kids and a wife doesn't leave much time to jam. Work will be slowing down a little so maybe I'll get some more time to play.
Being and old man its usually just 10mins here 15 mins there. Or untill the wife and kids start moaning at me!
Yeah they sometimes join in, and my 7 year old recently landed his first few lighthouses, but sadly his interest in kendama is up and down like the British weather
