just like what the title says. When did juggling come start being used in different tricks and combos. I watch some older ken edits and these people are using some cool tricks but not with the crazy juggling shit. So does anyone know when and how it started? (I also know that moshikame was considered juggling so yeah)
In Colin Sanders Practicing kendama edit, 3 years ago he did some juggling. So at least that old. edit: Yeah, Im seeing the oldest as 2013, but i only recently started kendama, so someone who has been playing for longer than that probably has some more info!
Juggling started to become more of a thing in 2014-ish I think. People certainly did juggle tricks long before that, but at that point it became more popular I suppose
Yeah I'd say 2014 because I started playing in 2014, and my friends who had been playing before me would talk about how that's the new cool trick in the kendama scene
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_juggling This wiki is super interesting by the way, especially if you actually juggle. Kendama is just an off shoot of juggling. Been really working on my club skills recently, so much fun.
I've been tossing some cheap juggling balls around in the Dama on the Drive shop lately, been thinking about picking up some clubs. What makes a good set of clubs? What do they cost?
I would say just get some regular renegade clubs to start out with. You can typically get a really good beginner set for about $30. Edit: @htimSxelA , looks like the renegades went up in price but those are still probably the best to buy still because they are also great for doing contact juggling. I would say get like 85mm or 95mm clubs with a medium handle length, somewhere around 20 inches or so
I got my first juggle about 6 months after starting and I still remember getting it on my front lawn it was sick
