Lately I've been playing underwater, and it just makes it way easier to land any of those jiggle tricks that were so hard before.
when gloss tack tamas become slippery wash the tama then add some soap and rub it ard ,rinse of the water off, dry it and u should be good to go! i tried it out a few times and t works so well!
Thx!!! But after a long while, would the inner side of the ken be dented? Like for example if you string the ken wrongly the wood will have the string mark.
The material of the bands makes them squish to fill the gap. They're not hard enough to cause a dent in any ken that I've used them on yet. Another advantage of the material of these bands is that they don't seem to get sticky with age like most bands. Not sure what a "loom band" is but if they are nearly flat, not thick like a regular rubberband, then they should be fine. Someone saw my suggestion but couldn't get the same kind of band so they used the elastics for dental braces but I've never tried those myself.
The link from the Youtube video still works for the Amazon product but they are also usually available at drugstores in the hairbrush, hairband area. I've found them at Walgreen's locally in Texas/Oklahoma but don't know about nationally. I've also tried the "house" brand you might also see and they work but are a bit thicker.
I add an extra bead over the spinner when the spinner gets "sucked" into the tama's string hole. This allows the spinner to spin more freely than being pinched by the wood and string knot.
It works though! It like raises the grain if that makes sense, so it makes the raw tama more raw. I recommend trying it, especially around the bevel because it helps for stalls. I just feel weird licking my tamas, so I rub sweat on instead
Totally works bro. With natty kendamas its kinda a thing a lot of people do. Its good to do it in the Summertime since you sweat so much.
I also heard of sweat pn the string? What does that do exactly? Im still learning so all this is new to me
I would guess that it would soften up the string a little bit but you can always just run the string across your pants for a bit and it does the same thing.
@ryanhasabeard @Eric H check this out from a few pages back. Sweat on tama and string break-ins are discussed.
