I just put my hands on a new Analog kendama with the updated shape and ET paint and honestly, the more I play with it, the more I am impressed. The ratio price/quality/playability is insane and I would definitely recommend them for any small budget.
Cobra kendama! Their kens are certianly "different" and take some getting used to, however they are very cheap and good for the price!
Yep, Cobra is good, but you might want to try small companies, like mellow, fritz, @Michael Joseph Reeves is part of a company, i don't know now the name off the top of my head, or yasai kendamas! smaller companies will probably give you discounts if you really ask for it, and it's kind of nice to support growing companies
It's prolly been said but kaizen selects should def. Be on the list. $29.99 so they fall in. Nice assortment of woods and great playability. And weight matched without having to ask for it. And if you lucky you'll get one with great lunar balance. But either way a great dama for the price. I'd go for the ash myself but I believe they have a birch as well and that sounds gravy, too.
